@tanynzh she's asking about Eartha Kitt's well known rendition of "Santa Baby," as when singing it, it sounds like the singer is a rather close friend of the old man in red
Dorothy is saying something at 2:39, and I can't hear what it is? "Might you be described as SOMETHING in your performance?" :) I'm not English, therefore the stupid question.
I saw her in 1997 when i was nine be in wizard of Oz on Stage with Mickey Rooney and Ken Page She played Miss Gulch and The Wicked Witch of The West. She was very good.
Rest in peace, Miss Kitt, you will be missed. I remember seeing her in an interview about James Dean (whom she called Jamie), and how she cried when she recalled being told of his death. Well, she's with Jamie again, who was like a brother to her.
I certainly agree with you. She was all excitement herself! What an interesting woman. She was so talented and wonderful. I always wanted to meet her, just to talk to her, but it never happened. I felt very sad when she recently passed away. She must be very popular in heaven, because she was unique in many ways. I love her and will miss her always.
i'm 12 and i've heard of her. does anybody know what else she was in back in the 50s. I do believe she plays Yzma in the Emperors New Groove movie and on the Emperors New School series on disney but this video is from very long ago. what else was she in or was she only a singer?
Incorrect, she was not the original Catwoman, she was the third catwoman, the others being Julie Newmar in the 1st season and part of the 2nd and then Lee Meriwether in the original movie between seasons one & two. That being said,I will agree that she was the purrrrrrr-fect catwoman.
I saw Eartha Kitt about four or five years ago in a club performance and she was incredibly good, her voice had not changed except deeper. Still a great singer and was indeed 'sinuous'.
No sound.

A great American, she was blackballed for years because of an incident at a White House luncheon. A brave lady.

"Might you be described as SINUOUS in your performance" is what she asked:
1.having many curves, bends, or turns; winding: a sinuous path.
2.indirect; devious: sinuous questions.
3.characterized by a series of graceful curving motions: a sinuous dance.
where are you from? da dove sei? de donde estas? (Eartha would have been able to ask you in at least 10 languages!)

I got to see Eartha Kitt perform at the Blue Note in New York. She could still belt out a good tune even when she was 80 years old. Amazing.

How in the world did she guess it was Earth Kitt based on next to no info? It had to be just the um mm sound! Excellent video. She was too sexy!!

Julie Newmar was the original Catwoman. Eartha Kitt was the ugly, no-talent, ooga booga replacement.
