  • Thank you so much for this! I volunteer for a non-profit and have to work with certain branding colors on a regular basis. I was concerned when the palate file wouldn't open directly, but I was able to open it in Notepad (when I selected "All Files") and followed your instructions from there. Got the info on the colors I needed by viewing their details in Photoshop.

  • how do i find this palette in windows(i m using windows vista);

    i went to c>program file>inkspace and theres everything but any file with the name "palette"

    thank you

  • I tried the previous commentator's method but I like this better to rename specific colors since I'm colorblind...really helps a ton!

  • if you chose a document with colors you can export a palette.

    select save as gpl in file menu it save you the document in seconds and no need to work

  • Hi! Great tutorial (you have nice voice ;)), except in Linux you'd rather want to store your palettes in ~/.inkscape/palettes/ directory for several reasons, one of them would be that you don't need root account.

  • It didn´t work for me.

    I am using 0.46, any difference?

  • Thanks for posting this video. I think there needs to be a little more to it though. How am I to generate a big file of hex colors? Do a lot of copy and pasting? Do you have any techniques for building up a palette file? How do I get some from a photo? Do people distribute gimp palettes around? (I imagine they do, but it wasn't mentioned in the video).

    This series is great.
