@hardcoremedic A few B groups had kompressors also to charge at lower rpm's. Eg. Delta S4 or completely infamous Polonez 2000 Turbo.

WRC started in 1997, before then this class was called Group A Rally, and the cars in this vid, woch lasted from to 1986, was known as Group B.

WRC means World Rally Championship, the series which started in 1973. You are talking about World Rally Cars, which are actually derived from group A cars, the former A8 class (2L + turbo engines). There are many more groups such as N, F (H in some countries) and different classes.

1983 was the first year of group B and seeing as the rally shown was round 1 the Monte most of the cars in teh rally including the Ascona, the old Renault 5s and the Quattro are actually Group 4 cars not group B.
