  • I did this with NACL in tap water. first I saw the H2 and O2 bubbling. then the water turned yellow. I moved the electrodes closer which turned the surrounding water black, which seemed to precipitate after about a minute. Is the yellow from aqueous elemental chlorine? and what is the black? I suspect manganese.. any response will be greatly appreciated

  • This is producing Chlorine gas...

  • I did this at my school with 3 9V batterys for 27V lots of bubbles burned my finger on the hot leads of the alligator clips

  • hey, how much do you think it would cost for carbon plates the size of wall plate covers to make a more powerfull generator??? and what kind of carbon is that conducting electricity??

good job by the way, you got us all thinking ;)

  • Havent thought much about it but you could try googleing it. Pure carbon, probably could use carbon cutting rods as used in welding. Possibly deposit carbon on SS plates from an acetylene toruch.

  • have u heard about extracting hydrogen and oxygen from salt water using radio waves ? type in youtube "burning salt water" .

  • Yes, neat as hell but takes about 2-300 watts of RF around 14 Mhz.

  • Yes, but not right now. I'm on a steep learning curve. Developing a good understanding of electrolysis. I'm not re-inventing the wheel, just learning to build a wheel on my own.

  • Could you measure its production and seen how it compares to PWM techniques, expressed as MMW preferably ?

  • It is fun isn't it? For me it is, and it is also extremely intriguing. Only one year ago I never thought I would be able to play with water in such a way.

    Keep playing!
