  • help when i delete the half cube it deletes the side from the right half of the cude!

    PLS help!

  • DON'T SLOW DOWN, Please!

I can always rewind the vid, tutorials that take forever drive me nuts.

WTG on a 9000 poly airplane though, lol, try less then 500

which brings me to my question, is there a way to clean up the poly or go from your 9000 poly plane to 500?

  • I like the speed in which he teaches. There is a pause button. And then I can check out the results on my end. I'm new to Blender, first time modeling something *truly* from scratch. (Not a ball... or box.. lol.)

If you are new to computers, programs, and Blender. Probably best to try super3boy's tutorials.

That will give you more basics. 60-120 minutes worth of just describing the interface and how to use the program.

  • Great tutorial! Perfect speed too. I had no problem following along.

  • First of all, what version of blender are you using? Second, how do you get your interface like that? I just have the default GUI at the moment.

  • I must say using maya controls are easier for those that are familiar with 3d graphics and need a fee program also the "widget thingy" is called a gizmo lol other then that great video for those that don't know 3d graphics (viewers remember it is a video so you can pause it while you fallow along)

  • how do you navigate on a laptop?

  • @kingpen i recommend you get a mouse to plug in to your laptop if you are wanting to navigate using the mouse and if you are becoming serious about using blender and you don't have a number pad i would also purchase one of these to make it easier

  • @txbasketball Thanks, I have :)

  • After this tutorial, I ended up with an epic shark. :3

  • Nevermind, I made mine differently, that was just a Face right?

  • @6:58 How do you do that?

  • @masterapmark You push Crtl R. A purple line will come up. This is called a loop cut. When using Subdivision surfaces you can "sharpen" an edge when you bring a loop cut closer to an edge or corner.

  • You missed a lot of things... Like Extruding with the E key. This isn't a very basic tutorial for beginners in that sense.

  • slow down plz =.=|||

  • 1 question. how do u rotate your view in the beggining. plz respond.

  • Why are your teaching us to make a German WWII rocket plane?

  • @AlienAnimations the law you've mentionedulli's effect, it explains that if the pressure to any side ofan object is in creased than it should undergo movement, or in this case lift to most objects (try it with running water by touching your finger to the edge, or by blowing across the top of a note or small flimsy paper)

  • thank you fast but clear ! I can create the same plane in 20 minutes after listening to your tutorial 4 times :)

  • I can't move the object, why???

  • how to select an object, the right click doesn't work for me

  • why is it that if I mirror the half, it will mirror but it is split in half. :?

  • DUDE THANKS HELP A LOT

  • Thanks so much really helped me! Although mine didn't look that good :)

  • oh god. i can't even understand this program at all.

maybe i should start smaller.. i downloaded it with the intent on creating anthro animal models. D:

  • Ty good tutorial

  • @XF4T4LSTR1K3X use e to extrude!! :D

  • Dude, way toooo fast

But at least you are speaking English

  • Dude, way toooo fast

  • Did you narrate this while having a piss?

  • how do u extrude? details bro details

  • Comment removed

  • I have a suggestion for you - please indicate your intended audience. As you move WAY too fast! Especially for a beginner! If your really trying to help someone, you should either take the time and explain "in detail" the tools you use and why, or start off by letting people know what level of Blender knowledge they should have.

  • im running blender 2.6. ive done everything just like but it just wouldnt mirror it... any advice???

  • @MrJouleJr i am too...but i hav figured out ho to make "orange" press tab

  • Any one know how to save the picture??

  • @AlienAnimations you should make a tutorial on how to coulor this!

  • You're doing it too fast man. :/

  • Nothing happens when clicking ctrl R

  • SLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW DOOOOOOOWWWWWWWNNNNNN

  • @gluefrog78 hahaha we is learning sllloooowww dooooowwwwwnn

  • Pretty nice tutorial there! Really newbie here, so ind the end it happens a bit too fast, so it's great to have a pause button! :D Five Stars! :P

  • THANKS SO MUCH!!

  • dont want to be mean but it diddnt help me at all

  • You are talking way to fast, and not even telling everything you do, you didn't even say how to tab into editmode, not a very good tutorial, think it would have been good if you went into details tho..

  • drugs ruined my life

    keyboard shortcuts saved my life

  • :O gr8 tut ty

  • How do I get the cube into 2d at 0:33?

  • @gunzilla29

Select "wiew" and there u see front left right and stuff like that.

  • too fast and not explained well. sorry but dislike!

  • you explain the easy and dont explain the difficult, people want to know what they need to press

  • when I go to edit mode to remove the crease on the tail, the model goes back to the way it looked before I subdivided

  • wont let me mirror

  • I cant mirror my object!!

  • @MihailoSilni Make sure you know where your origin is. Its the little orage dot in the center. To move it, cut your shape in half then in edit mode move it so the edge is right over the origin. Then add the Mirror!

  • @AlienAnimations i just got fed up with not being used to the controlls so i failed at everything. I calmed down and got it right. thanks xP

  • ctrl=r then what next in 3:34 is that a scale or what...you need not say anything

  • @AlienAnimations In Blender 2.58a when I try to get into user preferences blender freezes and says "Blender has stopped working" can you help?

  • @SamWazamTV if you fix it can teach me co'z that also my problem

  • @vahnvallain Ok so at the bottom left corner of your blender screen there should be a 3D brick icon click on that and then in that small menu click "user preferences" and there you go! :D

  • how to rotate the cube..its my first time to try

  • @vahnvallain Push R then X,Y, or Z to rotate along that axis.

  • Try ctrl+TAB I use this all the time.

  • how did you make that cube in the begin orange

  • @Telduivel111 That is a commin question for beginners. Making it 'orange' means its selected. To select and object right click on it. To de-select something select a different object or push A. Hope this helps!

  • @AlienAnimations wen i right click it no thing happens

  • @pivotmasterx9000 yah same here sorry AlienAnimations, i just find this quite funny how we'rea ll lost! XD so oplleez don't get frustrated! ;)

  • @Telduivel111 press tab

  • @Telduivel111 Its in Edit mode. Change at bottom left. Dont know shorcut, I'm still learning.

  • how do you do the part where you have to strude out or something at 2:45 ?

  • When I make a mirror it does not do anything >_>

Just says I cant do that in edit mode...

So i leave edit mode and still nothing happens!

  • @MayThereBePivot Ok, I think I can help you. First off, do not apply a Mirror in edit mode. Also, check where the origin for the object is. If its in the center fix that so it is right at the edge of the cut where you are trying to mirror. That is all I can think of right now:)

  • @AlienAnimations Ah, got it. Thanks!

  • dude? can ilike this tutorial 100x??

  • very nice :D thanks use i'am searching for this kind of tutorial

  • what is the difference between extrude region & extrude individual?

  • @Shinique04 On a cube with opposite faces selected: If you extrude region, it will extrude both opposite faces to one same direction. If you extrude individual, it will extrude both opposite faces to their own facing directions.

  • @Jink5 ohhh thank you very much

  • great tut :)

  • pew pew!

  • how did you fix that thing when you used the subdivision surface??

  • how did you widen it again?

  • how do you deselect things?

  • @gabefett Push A or rightclick on the vertice.

  • @AlienAnimations thanks, that was my main problem with these tutorials is I would mess up on selecting something and have to restart

  • Those having trouble with the middle mouse/scroll button using win7. Left click on computers background and click Personalize. Click change mouse pointers. You will get a Mouse Properties window, look for add mouse or add pointer device (cant remember exactly). On Mouse properties selecect Buttons Tab at top (there will be 2 Buttons tabs but only 1 will have the following options). Middle option is wheel button, Open the options and select Middle-click option it should work.

  • due to the longer distance the air has to move on the top of the wing compared to the bottom the particles move faster and are hence more spaced out causing a low pressure zone which combined with the normal pressure on the bottom of the wing causes lift :P sorry just had to do that. but one problem i have is that around 1:10 when you click on the spanner, i only have render, scene, world and texture. no modifiers :( do i not have the full version or something?

  • How are you extruding?

  • @silversteampunk by pressing e

  • prety owosom

  • great vid, but im stuck on the part when u said scale along line. what button or key on the keyboard do u press for tht???

  • If i have a laptop how can i rotate the cam?

  • @Jamamegapr try clicking both left and right mouse buttons at the same time, it works for my laptop

  • @WestonAAFC dude, my laptop is being retarded. in the last blender studio, shift + left mouse made me pan around, but your suggestion doesnt work on the mouse buttons for me. is there any way i can pan?

  • @crystalonyxtopaz sorry, shift + left mouse works for me and i havnt tried anything else, wish i could be more help

  • what do you mean by using the middle mouse button to move around? i held it down and moved the mouse around and nothing happened :/

  • @soloshockMedia are you on a laptop?

  • @AlienAnimations

nope just a windows 7 desktop computer also the shift+click doesn't select a side too!

  • @soloshockMedia i dont know whats up. by middle mouse button i mean the scroller wheel

  • @AlienAnimations

    same here

  • @soloshockMedia ok i dont know whats happening. but there is a way around it. CTRL+ ALT + U, go to input than enable emulate 3 button mouse.

now Alt + Left mouse button rotates around .

  • my question may be stupid but what do you press at the opening for the cube to get orange?, cuz when i press control R nothing happens

  • @fabiannacardozo it should already be orange.

but if you press right click to select it. then press tab to go into edit mode. ctrl R to add loop cut right click to select vertices.

  • i did control+r and it did not work

  • @msh361 are you in edit mode?

  • @AlienAnimations How to enter the edit mode?

  • @LoeckchenTVblog Push the tab button.

  • @AlienAnimations what do u mean edit mode im just new at this

  • Verrry nicce! :)

  • can you actualy use blender to create an object then export it into a program like gimp and use those renders in an image?

  • @vm6993 yes you can you just need,to save your render

  • @AlienAnimations thanx alot :)

  • one word for you sir, Epic...

  • very helpful, thank you

  • I don't need a tutorial... I need a tutorial for complete and udder idiots...

  • Comment removed

  • @toytulz I'm completely serious. I have no idea how to even move the camera... And, sorry for my misspelling.

  • @cryinglaughterFTW if u have a mouse click on it to move on x,y,z axises or use in object mode translation

  • this is not a tutorial this is an exhibition if you are going to teach then teach

  • Nevermind

  • I can't delete it right, Whenever I try I just keep getting this grid, and I do exactly what you say, where am I messing up!?!?!

  • @Martin19408 im sorry i don't really know what you are asking but i think i have an idea.

you don't know how to mirror...

well go to modifiers, and modifier ,add mirror modifier.

  • @MrZillion26 that you for your input i will slow down for now on.

  • I can't seem to scale it.. What am I supposed to do?

  • @DaewonsongRave what do you mean you cant scale it. you press s to scale, r to rotate, and g to grab.

  • Wich Blender is that? I don't have the same, I prefer yours

  • @DaewonsongRave Blender 2.56 beta.

  • Thanks for a great vid, it's hard to find videos that focus on technique while providing an appropriate amount of technical detail (not too basic, not too sparing). I hope you have more of these at different skill levels so I can soak up some more good techniques.

Also, how did you fix the "pinching"?

  • @qutorial thank you for the comment, and if you want to check out some more technics you can look at my guitar series.

i fixed the pinching in the middle by deleting the face that was on the flipping axis.

  • sooooooooooooooooooo nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • your very welcome :D

  • Thank you for sharing!!! Very intresting and helpful! And your tutorials are so cool!
