Masterbearding is a healthy practice and nothing to be ashamed of. I've had my mustache for (cof cof) 30+ years and the beard for almost 25. (Yes, I'm one of your more "time challenged" subs.) @evmoneyTV I don't use shampoo in any way at all, but I do wash the beard with baking soda, because I don't like all the chemicals that come in shampoos and conditioners. Those products are all full of petroleum byproducts, which weirds me out frankly.
