  • That's a great way to cook raace ;)

  • Awesome design, I love it! But what is the purpose of the bottom section, and its side-loaded can, with the triangular hole cut in it?

Thanks for the good work, I hope these designs get into the hands of those that need them

  • Can you sell me one of these just like in your video? I think this is a great stove that would keep my family fed with hot meals if the SHTF. Thanks in advance!!

  • nice!

  • wow great idea i wish i could have one....

  • Dear lannyplans,

The hybrid stove is a really great construction. Thanks. Please come to see our our new gardening website ahead of its launch this week on Wednesday.

YourGardenShow is a social network, for gardeners and others and would be a new audience for your hybrid stove. The YGS founders are Lisa and Tom, organic farmers who are also community builders. It would be interesting to hear what you think of our site and get more people excited by your ideas.

  • I am very interested in learning how to make that stove/shower unit at the beginning of this video.. please will you make a video of that cool one piece unit, made from barrels..?

  • Very cool, and important work. Thank you friend.

  • Why patent? A burner company is hardly going to patent something made out of old tins (love the reuse); give the plans out online and make a construction video, and screw the companies that want us to keep "upgrading" and using their products: self-build is the way to go. Thanks Lanny.

  • Please, you should see if you can patent this if you haven't already. The reason being that if you feel it's not differentiated enough to try or you don't wish to make profit from those in less economically developed countries (LEDC) the please remember that someone else probably will - if rights are going to held it's far better than it's held by you; and it does't have to mean a poor deal for those in need!

What about availability of appropriately burning wood in those LEDCs?

  • Why did the fire not go out?

  • genius!

  • Brilliant! 5 Stars!

  • this is amazing! you conserve so much energy. spectacular!

do you have a patent? you have got to get one for this revolutionary set-up.

  • Best design I've seen anywhere. So many modes of operation. Thanks for sharing this.

  • very nice design.. good use of metal buckets!

  • I need plans for this stove. I went to your websight and didn't see anything.

This is great for SHTF and everyday survival!

  • That appears to work really well and constructed from easily sourced materials, that was a ton of rice you cooked!!Hope you had plenty to feed!I cant quite workout the principal in my head as to why the wood does not completely burn,I assume its due to the fact that there is no up draught and its the gasseous product of the wood burning not the wood itself, you must have put finer material around the wood chunks to start the charcoal process off, very good, thanks for showing us,Stew.

  • Where can i buy a bag of soft wood charcoal??? anyone please respond =D

  • I don't think you can buy soft wood charcoal, if you could, i would imagine it to be very low quality, i would suggest making your own, put some soft wood in a metal container, seal the container, poke a hole in the lid, put over a fire until smoke stops coming out of the hole, take off the fire, wait a few minutes, take off lid, u have charcoal!

  • YOu can buy it somewhere i saw this guy in his video with a bag of softwood charcoal i just couldnt see the brand of the charcoal or anything. And besides softwood charcoal is very very good quality ... atleast when it comes to making gun powder it is and thats why i really need it =D

  • sounds good for camping.

  • super interesting. i am in the northern part of vietnam where there are many minority people. i am searching for a good design for them to use. also, will be travelling to burma soon. do you have any plans or more detailed images?

  • Superb work! Well done.

  • nice

  • Seems like an excellent yield you're getting..not seeing a lot of waste product. What kind of wood are you using, if you don't mind my prying?

  • Looks like you made this out of nothing.

  • if you really concern to teach poor people about your inventions why not show it on details so poor people will have a complete information of your inventions for free

  • Wow, just wow! That has to be the most impressive of your vids. 5 stars. Great job and great design. I want to see that hot water heater in action though. LOL

  • Comments like this and my growing subscriber list motivates me to do more.

I will have something new to show soon, so hand in there.

Thanks for the stars, I will remember my supporters and my subscribers.

    LannyPlans

  • @Josiah922 wow, I remember stars.

    u_u I miss the stars.

(the Irony being I moved into a city at the same time and can no longer see actual stars.)

  • Nice work...thats really efficient!!! How did you get enough air to the fire though? was it just a natural draft?

  • lanny, i'm heading out to a salvage yard to find some metal buckets . hope to have a stove working by this evening. thanks

    buzz

  • This would be awesome for camping, treks, ice berg hopping, what not. :)

  • Hey Lanny.

I went to your website and tried to email you but the email bounced back. How can I contact you?

    Thanks

    Hugh

  • Hugh, thanks for your interest email me at lannych at bellsouth dot net

  • Lanny, do you sell plans for the stove?

  • Not yet, but I probably will do a how to manual. I am still tweaking the design of the various parts and I am also testing a wood fired grill mode.

A drip grate drains grease away from the flames minimizing grease in the fire preventing flare-ups.

    Stay tuned for the video.

    Thanks for subscribing everyone.

  • Lanny,

Get Rice Husk and you'll be doing a big contribution

  • Thanks for your interest, I will answer you questions in another video but the stove system is constructed from used metal containers with only hand tools.
