  • At 1:52 Earnhardt went to the apron to take the lead, nowadays you cant do that without getting a penalty

  • At what point did Rusty get his lap back, cause he finished 3rd didnt he?

  • @terryk1233 right before the big one.. he stayed out as leaders pitted.. then a caution came out before he had to pit and got lap back... he was involved in the big one.. but minimal damage and ran great to finish 3rd..

  • Crazy watching the 24 push the 3 for the last time. Those two could really battle at that track.

  • tht looked cool seeing Gordon push Earnhart to the lead then to see Earnhart Gordon and Little E 1,2,3 WAS COOL 2 GOOD OLE DAYS AHHHHH

  • @bigbenforever1 a couple of weeks ago on the Nascar website there was a pciture of Jeff Gordon being taught a "lesson" by Dale Earnhardt it was interesting to see i forgot what the article was about though

  • this day was just so electric you can hear it in the voices of the announcers. You can see it in the crowd, its like people knew something big was going to happen that day.

  • I can't wait until this years 500, it's going to be great.

  • Wow, Rusty from a lap down to 3rd. WITHOUT THE LUCKY DOG FREE PASS!?

  • they didnt have the field frozen during a caution...remember, they use to be able to race back to the caution flag. Thats how Rusty got his lap back as the leaders slowed up due to the "Gentlemans Agreement" they use to have. Thank Ryan Newman for fuckin that one up.

  • @ScottNEwberry Look up a wreck at New Hampshire involving Dale Jarret in 2003 to find out why they don't race back to the caution anymore

  • @Nascarking24 I know exactly WHY they went to freezing the field, hence my "Ryan Newman screwed that one up" comment. HE was the one that kept running back to the line and passing folks while everyone else went with the old Gentlemans Agreement. Before you try to be a know it all, make sure you understand the info I already gave. Been watching NASCAR since 1988, bud.

  • the car of tomorrow is so ugly compared to the old streamlined cars they were class. i hate the spoilers on the COT

  • you mean the wings....spoilers haven't came back yet. Texas will hopefully see them back on them and things will get back to normal.

  • @schumacher1994 they went back to the ducktail spoilers

  • too bad jr cant run like this no more

    he shulda stayed a dei

  • The 2009 Daytona 500 was unfortunate because of the rain. Now, with the double-file restart format I think the 2010 Daytona 500 is going to be the most exciting 500s in years.

  • I liked when everything was on Fox networks in 2001, FX, FOX, and Fox Sports Net...

  • GOOOOO DALE Sr wooo hoo number 3 baby

  • i think the yellow line rule was applied at the Pepsi 400 later that year

  • 1: 53

    illegal move!!!!!!

  • wasn't illegal back then though

  • it is kind of nice that earnhardt did good in this part sence this is part 3 he is #3

  • i agree with pat02537.. this aero package was so much more exciting. this new one suck

  • Dale drove so great during this race.

  • Dale drove so great during this race.

  • Dale drove so great during this race.

  • A great race. Such a shame about the tragic ending.

    R.I.P. Dale!

  • yes i agree with you all the way standard start times for NASCAR

  • helluva day for rusty, by far his best 500. fuck the lucky dog.

  • Look at the Rockingham schedule. 12:30pm Start, we need to bring those back as well.

  • 1230 pm is still the start, well, depens on where you live.

  • Wow I cant believe Rusty ended up finishing 3rd in this race

  • We need to go back to this aero package.

  • What I Mean of What A Day For Rusty is that he hit the wall then got in The Big One and finishes in 3rd!

  • Gotta love when you used to be able to pass under the yellow line...sure made things fun.

  • NO LUCKY DOGS THEN as Phil Parsons says during an ARCA race as he said "In ARCA you have to earn your lap back".

  • What A Day for Rusty.

  • just like big e, he either had bad luck, crashes, etc.

  • Look on Dale Jr.'s in-car cam and I saw his OWN HAT IN HIS CAR YOU CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE.
