Mages are cranking out much dps? Our mage in our guild is cranking out 10k+ in our raid groups, Tymage - Spirestone, armory him. He topped 14k on Patch during our weekly daily, then dropped to 10k.

i suggest you get MFClip addon, it's really great for shadow priests, it shows when you can clip MF without loosing too much dps, and you can keep track on how long your dots will be up on your current target. i use it and loves it =D

Well, many priests are a lot better geared than I am. I'm just in tier 9 with a few 10m togc heroic items here and there with some healing gear interspersed. However I've never seen a priest hit for 8-9k with just mind flay.
@Saeris You Are Correct About The Mind Flay Damage. I Am In Heroic Gear And I Can Pull 18k DPS But I Only Do About 6-7k Damage With Crits I Average 5k Per Hit.
Also A Quick Question Y are U Not Using Mind Sear On The Axe Throwers I Am Just Wondering
mine in this was around 4k dps. it's usually around the same in 25 man's, some times as high as 5k depending on the fight. average raid dps for my guild, at least where melee are concerned, can be anywhere from 5k-7k on average. casters usually are a bit lower than melee.

Everytime we do this fight, we always just set it to heroic mode, better loot and heroic mode isnt hard.

no theyre not... usually rogues and DKs are on top of the charts, trust me mages are not cranking out top dps anymore
