mayweather vs canelo? Great fight if you ask me! a defensive boxer vs an agressive boxer! Canelo has some type of defense but i see mayweather has no type of offense. So i think ima have to go with Canelo.
Canelo can beat mayweather. Mayweather is overrated by US media that wants to have a hero due to the lack of champs. He runs too much and doesn't have that many fights so he can keep his 0
Cintron never learned how to defend himself. Horrible defense is what should symbolize Cintron's career. I honestly thought this was a huge mismatch and should not have happened. Cintron might be a gifted athlete but in boxing you need to know how to protect yourself.
Don't judge Canelo's foot movement on this fight. Look at the Ryan Rhodes performance, he shows much better foot movement. Cintron has terrible foot movement, so it's impossible to judge Canelo on a skill he didn't need to use. He takes a good punch as well - I thought a couple of Cintron shots that were thrown in desperation would have put the majority of light middleweights on the canvas. He did tie up, so obviously felt it and reacted accordingly. I've rated him highly for a while now.
Just to elaborate, notice how Cintron holds his left low, intending to use his shoulder and his reactions to avoid the rights of Canelo. This is a tactic that worked against many inferior fighters who throw slowly or improperly (telegraphed). He believed in his style, and never adjusted once he started to lose. In fairness, nobody really exposed this flaw, but Canelo really puts together his punches well and disguises right hands as he throws them behind left hooks.
Cintron is a fighter that suffers from what I call "style ego", which afflicts a lot of up and coming fighters. He knocks 20 of his first 22 opponents out, and essentially stopped learning some time into this. As Bruce Lee says, if you become obsessed [with a particular style], it becomes a weakness. So fighters win fights on talent and athleticism, and don't bother to be self critical and improve. Canelo has improved every single fight I've seen. That's why is is potentially special.
Dwyer Dwyer, what am I gonna do with you.. so eager to drink the Canelo Koo-Aid. He is so limited, wait til he fights someone with decent footspeed, he will get exposed.. JCC Jr. would beat him, now and everytime..
@GabeLoser I think he's going to have trouble with someone with footspeed as well. But, I see his defence improving and his ability to position himself is interesting. He does a lot with a little when it comes to his own footspeed.
"this guy was hit with shots so hard, he was discouraged from fighting" thats it in a nutshell. I believe a live Cintron WAS in the fight. I believe the competitive Cintron was there....until he felt the whack of Alvarez, and he literally shut into a mental shell. His jab was so light and limp because he knew if he opened up too much big Canelo would break his ribs. He just shut down because he felt the dig of Cinnamon boy! Felt it in the first round and it sapped the life outta him tbh.
Cintron is trash!!! canelo alvarez should have fought molina or someone more worthy.. kirkland vs canelo should be his next fight, if not kirkland cotto or margarito winner for sure
Cintron has a huge hole in his defense.Similar to Arturo Gatti. They are both susceptible to straight right hands. They have no defence for it,it just thuds against the skull.Their Philly shells are terrible & they don't time the shoulder properly to ricochet the shot.
Canelo for a young fighter is good but he's flawed.Cintron conceded that Saul was the bigger puncher @ the opening bell.He gave Alvarez entirely too much respect. It was only after he was hurt badly that he "went for broke" & went i
A couple of things to consider: Cintron looked already done in his previous two fights and the fight took place at 8,000 ft elevation. If Canelo hits so hard how couldn't he knock out a smaller Mathew Hatton?
@dwyer, over on one of the forums one of the pac___ (you know what) started a thread basically saying that Mayweather was going to "chicken" out of a fight with Pac by setting up a fight with Alvarez. I think he was trying to stir up anger in people but frankly I'd be more interested in the Canelo fight then the Pac fight. I think at 154 he stands a better chance of beating Mayweather then Pac does.
Dwyer ur way 2 reactive man :D , WATCH SAUL'S FIGHTS AGAINST HATTON AND N'DOU, he's fought both in the last 11 months and hit them with every punch in the book but still couldn't stop them, he also didn't stop Ryan Rhodes until the 12th round and even then Rhodes was still on his feet and active, the boy is not that big of a puncher bro, believe me, does he hit harder than mosley? i don't think so, and Floyd took 2 clean shots from him n didn't go down, Floyd would own this kid man, he too slow.
Dwyer, I agree with you for the most part. However, I don't feel that you can call-out a fighter in a lower weightclass, with the expectation for them to move up in weight to fight you. I believe you would have to accomodate the fighter in the lower weightclass.
@ricotony86 mayweather is not going to fight Alvarez because he is going to retire 3 more times and then is going to say that alvarez dont deserve to fight him and then he is going to run for the mountains and hide under a rock
Canelo should fight Sergio Martinez or K9 Bundrage next. Canelo hasn't done anything but fight stiffs or washed up fighters. I don't see how a bigger fighter could call out a smaller fighter, and get props for that. If MW called out Canelo, then I could accept your stance on Canelo not fighting at a catch weight, but its just whack for a bigger fighter to call out smaller fighters, and still want to keep his size advantage. If a title is on the line, then no catch weight should apply.
Williams is washed up, and he has always been overrated. Williams doesn't use his height when he fights, so that makes him a stupid fighter-thats how Sergio knocked his ass out.
i think Rhodes and M. Hatton both were really tough underrated guys with chins. Alvarez DID knock out the un-KO'able Baldomir with 1 vicious left hook to the jaw. he also stopped Alfonso Gomez so suddenly in the 6th round as SOON as he started landing, the public who didn't know about Alvarez's true power thought it was a fluke/early stoppage. I think Alvarez has been demonstrating his power, you're right on.
There's no future for Cintron at 154. They mentioned he has trouble keeping weight on and his power hasn't translated very well to that weight. If he's going to continue his boxing career he should go back to 147.
Canelo has great power, but I think you are overrating it Dwyer. The kid can hit very hard with both hands, but he doesn't have that Wladimir Klitschko/Randall Bailey, one punch and your on your back twitching type power.
They fought in a bull fighting ring. I thought that was cool. Kirkland Vs Canello will be a great fight. After the PWill fight I would never bet on Cintron. Oscar will put Kirkland in there with Canello. GBP is a sink or swim organization. Top Rank is running a witness protection program. I would pay 70$ to watch Kirkland test Canellos stamina. Kirkland Vs Canello 2012.
don't get carried away dwyer. your a prisoner of the moment again. alvarez hasnt exactly beaten a lineup of champions here..alfonso gomez is a bum he struggled with him. kermit cintron is a known choke artist with questionable stamina and technique. shouldnt u wait til he actually beats someone before u call him the klitsckho of his weight class? think about it
@hotta1488 I agree 100. Cintron has look and fought like shot fighter in his last 4 fights. he just about lost all of them.I remember they asked Canelo if he would fight Kirkland next. He response was sometime next year. Cintron crack him once and he held on .
you forgot to say, the opinion you follow should be your own just consider this to be an opinion from a complete stranger online. Feel better, sounds like you're sick.
I see canelo against kirkland I think canelo wins but it fills all the requirments big name fighter in his prime exciting fight but not dangerous like sergio martinez . Lara would be a nice match up to.. pac wouldn't take the fight to much risk he would just fight mayweather. I think mayweather would fight amir khan before canelo less risk but you get the same credit for fighting a young prime champ
Offensively Canelo can match Mayweather. In terms of style Canelo is incredible gifted. His speed, power and counter attacking ability is insane. Its his defense thats the problem. He needs some more experience before going against Floyd
@Youaintakilla lol Mayweather would fight him this year or next yeak. Floyd made it clear if he looses a step he is retiring and agree why fight when your not at 100%. Floyd willl be 35 this year no way in hell i see him fightign till he is 37
@dwyer70905 i think you made a mistake. floyd came in at 148 i believe on fight night against de la hoya. he did weigh in at 150 but fought lower than that
I seen all of Saul Alvarez fights and he is more mobile depending on the fighter his fighting he comes straight at u and dose no head faints if he dosent respect ur punishing power.. but he will surprise some of u guys in his hand speed and mobility he is a overall good boxer would like him to fight one or two more fights before he goes up against mayweather or paquioa..not that I don't think he can't win but because I would like to see him get more experience with fighters
cotto said on episode 2 24 7 that he will take advantage of margaritos eye , and imagine that shit pops out of his eyesocket, anyways on a serious note i still think margarito will beat cotto but without the brick hands im still not so sure 50 to 60.But yes the winner of the match should take on canelo would be good for boxing :)
Canelo's power has always impressed me, he looks strong in every fight.. People have doubts about him still but thats because they need to build him up right.. put him up against somebody even better then Cintron and he would more than likely win. Still too early to put him in with Floyd...If Cotto defeats Margarito somehow Id love to see a Canelo vs Cotto.
Chavez jr still hasn't impressed me but it would be an interesting fight to see them both fight, and please dnt give me that shit that pacroid would destroy canelo, I think that pacroid would have to play the counter puncher role to beat canelo because if he trys that brawler shit with canelo, pacroid will be down for the count in the early rounds.
Floyd is a very bad fight for Canelo. Mayweather can simply use the Mosley fight plan and walk forward on Canelo killing him with jabs, feints and straight right hands.
Did you see Canelo being hit last night? Where was his defense?
@dwyer70905 hey Dwyer: I disagree with what you said about Canelo not throwing combination, he might not be as gifted as Marquez in that regard; however I find Canelo likes to put together his combinations as a measure of mining his opponent when they are trying to protect themselves from his right uppercut, these are maybe 4 or 3 punch combinations. Also, I think it was a series of 3 punch combinations that put Cintron on his knee the first time in Rd 4. (I enjoy your work Dweyr keep it up!)
Nobody called out canelo. He called out Money. so he should make the provision and sacrifices to make the fight. Canelo should make the Kirkland fight. Or with the rest of the 154lbs fighters. This guy Canelo was spent , blowing heavy after the fight. did anybody see that.
If your so confident in Canelo. To which I disagree with his one punch abilities. all his ko's has seen the guy stopped on his feet. Canelo should fight Kirkland next. I see him as Mexican food for Kirkland.
@Sexxonable I saw Canelo hurt against Cottos brother a 140lber. The pressure would brake Canelo just like it did Angulo. Cintron is shot fighter the outcome was expected if you follow boxing. Canelo should have been in there with Lara or Molina the man who whopped Cintron or KIrkland. I hope the next fight for Canelo is Kirkland. You guyare hype fans not fight fans. he was huffin and puffin after 4 rnds are u kiddin.
@madbent100 I do hope that, Alvarez will Ko kirkland. Hype fans? Kirkland is all hype hype too idiot. He's a brawler with a glass jaw, you expect him to beat a precise puncher like alvarez? Be real idiot, James "the no chin and no defense" Kirkland won't win shit.
@Sexxonable To be fair, we haven't seen Alvarez fight anyone even CLOSE to someone like Kirkland. Kirkland is a psycho, juggernaut who has very good power and quick hands. Alvarez may be the technically better fighter, and he may have power himself, but he has been hurt as well in fights and Kirkland has faced way better competition.
@PureBoxerP4P The only guy kirkland fought was angulo, he was knocked out by Nobuhiro Ishida. Kirkland was knocked down by Angulo in the first round. How is that a juggernaut? Kirkland would get KO in the 3rd round.
@Sexxonable Canelo got rocked and smashed by Jose Miguel Cotto dude, a 140lb fighter, in the first round. Have you ever seen that fight? Have you ever seen Kirkland fight? Kirkland goes balls to the wall, from the start, non-stop. Who has Canelo faced that is even remotely CLOSE to that type of style? NOBODY, Angulo is a better opponent by far than any fighter Canelo has fought. Canelo has talent, no doubt. But you acting like he would wipe out Kirkland is hilarious, and pretty ignorant.
@PureBoxerP4P But he didn't go down, did he? Kirkland was knocked out by a boxer that had 31 fights with only 8 of them being knockouts. Nobuhiro Ishida exposed his glass chin and the only reason Kirkland won his last fight was that Angulo gassed himself out after he had knocked kirkland down. Canelo would destroy kirkland, you can't be a brawler with a brittle chin.
@Sexxonable Kirkland also spend two years in prison. I've already said it, how do you know Canelo can handle the freakish pressure that Kirkland puts on, when he has never fought anyone even close to that type of style? Styles make fights, and Canelo hasn't proved he can overcome that style.
@PureBoxerP4P Canelo has fought most of his fights in Mexico, are you seriously trying to say that Mexico doesn't have brawlers ? haha He has fought dozens of brawlers moron, the majority of mexican boxers are brawlers.
@Sexxonable who has Canelo fought? Canelo has never experience a fighter like KIrkland and don't put the bs that he is mexican and Blah , blah. Cintron is shot period. Hatton, Cotto, Rhodes are all 135-140lb fighter that came to 154 to fight this joke. Boldimir is an old fart , done. Goldenboy will not put him in with the likes of Kirkland, Lara, or even Angulo or Paul williams. He should fight MOlina next he is good but no power. Who is the idiot or hype fan. look in the mirror. Madbent
@madbent100 Canelo would distroy kirkland, we seen what a good punch can do to his ass, angulo prove that, Canelo is diff than angulo he would hurt him and wait till time is right i see a 9 th or 11 nd tko. Kirkland would have work on his chin a bit more if he wants to win that fight
Mayweather is clearly no jr middle weight. He even looked small against Ortiz.
Bumelo should first beat the top 3 jmw's in the world before getting cocky and calling out smaller guys. Floyd still whoops his ass regardless of weight.
there was one point early in the fight where alvarez hits cintron with a right hook and cintron feints down fast and alvarez catches him with the left almost as if he anticipated exactly what cintron would do..we can forget a chavez jr vs alvarez fight now lol
sorry but i think that his strengths r that he has a great variety of punches and u can see this in his other fights (particularly against rhodes and the way he finished gomez). he also has good head movement moving forward slipping punches and on the backfoot aswel! i think his feints r very good and they wud cauz mayweather and paqman problems by putting them off balance!
All this nonsense about if canelo hit floyds this will happen or that will happen. We said that about ortiz but ortiz couldnt find a way in and he got frustrated resulting in a dirty headbutt. Floyds defense is impecable, in my opinion no one can beat him.
@jabjabgrab123 agree. A fight is completely different when your missing and getting tagged at the same time. Thats the prob with boxing today, everyone's looking for 1 punch regardless of how much abuse they get trying to get it.
why should mayweather move up to suit alverez? mayweather doesn't even want his belt, he turned down the opportunity to fight for mosley's ww belt. they'd fight at 150 and mayweather would whoop him weighing 147lbs, like he beat dlh at 154 weighing 150lbs.
Canelo is calling out Mayweather.... why should Floyd gain weight to suit Canelo? If you're calling out a WW then you should be prepared to fight him as his natural weight.... not expect him to come to yours.
Cintron looked very bad in this fight, but still Canello done the job. Kermit was not the same fighter as he was against Alfredo Angulo, maybe he got old overnight? This may have been a genuine attempt at finding a decent opponent for Canello, but Cintron was very overmatched. He should fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito, or Chavez Jr. before Mayweather idk what he's thinking! He'd get tarred and feathered.
@checklefthook stop bro, cintron is a bum! this wasn't an attempt to get a decent opponent, it was an attempt to get a "name" under his belt. were talking about the same kermmit cintron who dove out of the ring against williams and basically played dead. same thing when amir khan faced juddah, juddah was more of a "name" than he was competition. cintron has lost his fighter spirt. all cintron did was pump the jab all night, he didn't commit to the right until he was already too far gone.
@Veechie4short Obviously Cintron is questionable, we all remember what Kermit "The Frog" Cintron is capable of. He also has the opposite nights where he comes up big and he was coming off a decent win. Still bviously he is not the hardest guy out there to fight everybody knows. With regards to Canello challenging Mayweather is not smart. He should fight Martinez, Cotto, Margarito, Chavez Jr. etc fist. Floyd's too much of a step up, when "who knows" if he could beat any of the above listed.
Canelo is good, ppl forget he's only 21 and taking it easy on a vetetan like Cintron. Perspective? Cintron beat Angulo. Cintron is Margarito's second biggest win of his career. Not even Sergio Martinez knocked out Cintron
Saul Alvarez also posseses the only belt Floyd cares about. THE WBC. I've always said if you want a fight with Floyd and you're in or around his division do whatever you have to do to get the WBC belt. Floyd considers it the 'real belt', and has loyal to them since his early days as a pro. Mayweather vs Alvarez is as good as done if Mayweather vs Pacquiao doesn't come off.
@OralLepercy I know it's the popular conceit now, but I'm not convinced Bob Arum is the reason Pac isn't fighting Floyd. How do we know behind closed doors Manny hasn't told him, "I don't want to fight him" or "Bob don't make me take random tests whatever you do"? If that were the case, Bob would act exactly how he's doing, deflecting onto Floyd. I suspect if Floyd wanted Cotto or Margarito, you'd see Top Rank sit down at the table.
@truBoxingfan floyd gains a great deal beating a young powerful star and exposing his defensive weaknesses and gets a nice payday against a dangerous fighter.....much better to see than MANY of floyd's safer opponents....
@flyinghotwing nothing the general population doesn't know who canelo is . Ortiz was known for the peterson n Berto fight in the states . I see no reason for him to fight Canelo floyd already has a 154 title
@flyinghotwing he gains nothing from this fight, because whwn he wins everyone will say he was supposed to. it's the mayweateher effect. ortiz was supposed to be that young, strong, dangerous fighter, who had a tought style (south paw). then when mayweather beat him it was no big deal lol. same would happen with alverez. everyone will sit back and say no big deal, canelo is only 21, and the excusues wil continue to roll
@Veechie4short you can make excuses after fights all you want, but the tough 21 yr old...would be a good tough test for mayweather just because he can punch, and he would be in shape to continue coming after floyd, floyd would get a workout and continue rolling punches all nite, but i think it would be exciting even if floyd wins and he should win quite handily....canelo would benefit from the clinic and would still have a chance if he could get inside and land a couple big shots...interesting.
@flyinghotwing he wouldn't be a test for mayweather? what test has canello had? he's fought ALL BUMS until this this point. name one top 10 contender that he's faced? he he has a title and is offering title shots to bums. so we don't even know if he can fight at this point. his toughest opponent was carlos baldomir and he has like 12 losses. everyone loves to bring up the fact that someone can hit hard. but if you can't land the punch then so what. floyd has been hit hard 2wice in 42 fights
when he used to fight a little more often he fought guys much lesser in caliber than canelo, who is young and untested but has raw talent and comes to fight, it would be good to watch, much better than floyd running circles agaisnt ol shane, or baldomir or the late gatti, and a few other boring fights, this would be exciting and even if floyd pitches a shutout he is fighting at 154 against a young man who can bang, just the suspense of it would be worth it, floyd needs all he can to gain legacy
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is being BABIED!!!! It's time for him to step up and fight REAL, LEGITIMATE CONTENDERS!!!! I would like to see James Kirkland get a shot at him but it won't happen because Alvarez is being protected by GB and forget the Chavez fight, Chavez, who's also being WELL PROTECTED should be going up to super middleweight considering his size and fight the real talent like Ward , Froch, Bute etc.
mayweather vs canelo? Great fight if you ask me! a defensive boxer vs an agressive boxer! Canelo has some type of defense but i see mayweather has no type of offense. So i think ima have to go with Canelo.

Offensively Canelo can match Mayweather. In terms of style Canelo is incredible gifted. His speed, power and counter attacking ability is insane. Its his defense thats the problem. He needs some more experience before going against Floyd
Youaintakilla 2 months ago
@Youaintakilla lol Mayweather would fight him this year or next yeak. Floyd made it clear if he looses a step he is retiring and agree why fight when your not at 100%. Floyd willl be 35 this year no way in hell i see him fightign till he is 37

@dwyer70905 i think you made a mistake. floyd came in at 148 i believe on fight night against de la hoya. he did weigh in at 150 but fought lower than that
Young3Buck 2 months ago
I seen all of Saul Alvarez fights and he is more mobile depending on the fighter his fighting he comes straight at u and dose no head faints if he dosent respect ur punishing power.. but he will surprise some of u guys in his hand speed and mobility he is a overall good boxer would like him to fight one or two more fights before he goes up against mayweather or paquioa..not that I don't think he can't win but because I would like to see him get more experience with fighters

cotto said on episode 2 24 7 that he will take advantage of margaritos eye , and imagine that shit pops out of his eyesocket, anyways on a serious note i still think margarito will beat cotto but without the brick hands im still not so sure 50 to 60.But yes the winner of the match should take on canelo would be good for boxing :)

i knew this would happen and i even put a comment on your prediction video stating this. kermit was done

Alvarez's power is next level the way he stopped Baldomir confirmed to me as much
BlackMessiahX 2 months ago
Canelo's power has always impressed me, he looks strong in every fight.. People have doubts about him still but thats because they need to build him up right.. put him up against somebody even better then Cintron and he would more than likely win. Still too early to put him in with Floyd...If Cotto defeats Margarito somehow Id love to see a Canelo vs Cotto.
boxchief 2 months ago
I also thought the fight was stopped prematurely but kermit got the fight beat out of him, He seemed he wanted to quit but wouldent say it.
S0S0BOXING 2 months ago
Chavez jr still hasn't impressed me but it would be an interesting fight to see them both fight, and please dnt give me that shit that pacroid would destroy canelo, I think that pacroid would have to play the counter puncher role to beat canelo because if he trys that brawler shit with canelo, pacroid will be down for the count in the early rounds.
ilunsp 2 months ago
Floyd is a very bad fight for Canelo. Mayweather can simply use the Mosley fight plan and walk forward on Canelo killing him with jabs, feints and straight right hands.
Did you see Canelo being hit last night? Where was his defense?
BERNARDO712 2 months ago
@dwyer70905 hey Dwyer: I disagree with what you said about Canelo not throwing combination, he might not be as gifted as Marquez in that regard; however I find Canelo likes to put together his combinations as a measure of mining his opponent when they are trying to protect themselves from his right uppercut, these are maybe 4 or 3 punch combinations. Also, I think it was a series of 3 punch combinations that put Cintron on his knee the first time in Rd 4. (I enjoy your work Dweyr keep it up!)

saul dont have business on top of the ring vs floyd nor manny,,,,he will be another margarito type of masacre
TzzX78 2 months ago
Nobody called out canelo. He called out Money. so he should make the provision and sacrifices to make the fight. Canelo should make the Kirkland fight. Or with the rest of the 154lbs fighters. This guy Canelo was spent , blowing heavy after the fight. did anybody see that.
madbent100 2 months ago
If your so confident in Canelo. To which I disagree with his one punch abilities. all his ko's has seen the guy stopped on his feet. Canelo should fight Kirkland next. I see him as Mexican food for Kirkland.
madbent100 2 months ago
@madbent100 Are you serious? James "The no chin" Kirkland would go down with one punch if Alvarez ever fought him.
Sexxonable 2 months ago
@Sexxonable I saw Canelo hurt against Cottos brother a 140lber. The pressure would brake Canelo just like it did Angulo. Cintron is shot fighter the outcome was expected if you follow boxing. Canelo should have been in there with Lara or Molina the man who whopped Cintron or KIrkland. I hope the next fight for Canelo is Kirkland. You guyare hype fans not fight fans. he was huffin and puffin after 4 rnds are u kiddin.
madbent100 2 months ago
@madbent100 I do hope that, Alvarez will Ko kirkland. Hype fans? Kirkland is all hype hype too idiot. He's a brawler with a glass jaw, you expect him to beat a precise puncher like alvarez? Be real idiot, James "the no chin and no defense" Kirkland won't win shit.
Sexxonable 2 months ago
@Sexxonable To be fair, we haven't seen Alvarez fight anyone even CLOSE to someone like Kirkland. Kirkland is a psycho, juggernaut who has very good power and quick hands. Alvarez may be the technically better fighter, and he may have power himself, but he has been hurt as well in fights and Kirkland has faced way better competition.
PureBoxerP4P 2 months ago
@PureBoxerP4P The only guy kirkland fought was angulo, he was knocked out by Nobuhiro Ishida. Kirkland was knocked down by Angulo in the first round. How is that a juggernaut? Kirkland would get KO in the 3rd round.
Sexxonable 2 months ago
@Sexxonable Canelo got rocked and smashed by Jose Miguel Cotto dude, a 140lb fighter, in the first round. Have you ever seen that fight? Have you ever seen Kirkland fight? Kirkland goes balls to the wall, from the start, non-stop. Who has Canelo faced that is even remotely CLOSE to that type of style? NOBODY, Angulo is a better opponent by far than any fighter Canelo has fought. Canelo has talent, no doubt. But you acting like he would wipe out Kirkland is hilarious, and pretty ignorant.
PureBoxerP4P 2 months ago
@PureBoxerP4P But he didn't go down, did he? Kirkland was knocked out by a boxer that had 31 fights with only 8 of them being knockouts. Nobuhiro Ishida exposed his glass chin and the only reason Kirkland won his last fight was that Angulo gassed himself out after he had knocked kirkland down. Canelo would destroy kirkland, you can't be a brawler with a brittle chin.
Sexxonable 2 months ago 2
@Sexxonable i agree with you, canelo will knock out kirkland easy. Kirkland has no defense! Canelo will expose him
777MexicanPride777 2 months ago
@Sexxonable Kirkland also spend two years in prison. I've already said it, how do you know Canelo can handle the freakish pressure that Kirkland puts on, when he has never fought anyone even close to that type of style? Styles make fights, and Canelo hasn't proved he can overcome that style.
PureBoxerP4P 2 months ago
@PureBoxerP4P Canelo has fought most of his fights in Mexico, are you seriously trying to say that Mexico doesn't have brawlers ? haha He has fought dozens of brawlers moron, the majority of mexican boxers are brawlers.
Sexxonable 2 months ago
@Sexxonable who has Canelo fought? Canelo has never experience a fighter like KIrkland and don't put the bs that he is mexican and Blah , blah. Cintron is shot period. Hatton, Cotto, Rhodes are all 135-140lb fighter that came to 154 to fight this joke. Boldimir is an old fart , done. Goldenboy will not put him in with the likes of Kirkland, Lara, or even Angulo or Paul williams. He should fight MOlina next he is good but no power. Who is the idiot or hype fan. look in the mirror. Madbent
madbent100 2 months ago
@madbent100 haha No chin kirkland can't take a punch, Alvarez would demolish him.
Sexxonable 2 months ago
@madbent100 Canelo would distroy kirkland, we seen what a good punch can do to his ass, angulo prove that, Canelo is diff than angulo he would hurt him and wait till time is right i see a 9 th or 11 nd tko. Kirkland would have work on his chin a bit more if he wants to win that fight
ilunsp 2 months ago
Mayweather is clearly no jr middle weight. He even looked small against Ortiz.
Bumelo should first beat the top 3 jmw's in the world before getting cocky and calling out smaller guys. Floyd still whoops his ass regardless of weight.
aattitude 2 months ago
keep dreaming if you think canelo takes on floyd...floyd will drive canelo creazy with his speed.
TzzX78 2 months ago
there was one point early in the fight where alvarez hits cintron with a right hook and cintron feints down fast and alvarez catches him with the left almost as if he anticipated exactly what cintron would do..we can forget a chavez jr vs alvarez fight now lol
gangstanikes 2 months ago
sorry but i think that his strengths r that he has a great variety of punches and u can see this in his other fights (particularly against rhodes and the way he finished gomez). he also has good head movement moving forward slipping punches and on the backfoot aswel! i think his feints r very good and they wud cauz mayweather and paqman problems by putting them off balance!
CDDD007 2 months ago
Cintron did what he's always done, the minute he got hit hard, he folded like a lawn chair.
This fight tells us nothing about Canelo and this is why they picked Cintron.
CraigKramer 2 months ago
All this nonsense about if canelo hit floyds this will happen or that will happen. We said that about ortiz but ortiz couldnt find a way in and he got frustrated resulting in a dirty headbutt. Floyds defense is impecable, in my opinion no one can beat him.
jabjabgrab123 2 months ago
@jabjabgrab123 agree. A fight is completely different when your missing and getting tagged at the same time. Thats the prob with boxing today, everyone's looking for 1 punch regardless of how much abuse they get trying to get it.

why should mayweather move up to suit alverez? mayweather doesn't even want his belt, he turned down the opportunity to fight for mosley's ww belt. they'd fight at 150 and mayweather would whoop him weighing 147lbs, like he beat dlh at 154 weighing 150lbs.
Veechie4short 2 months ago

He'd get tarred and feathered.
checklefthook 2 months ago
@checklefthook he thinks the weight advantage will be enough. he'd get schooled, mayweather would weigh in at 151 and would still dominate him
Veechie4short 2 months ago
@checklefthook stop bro, cintron is a bum! this wasn't an attempt to get a decent opponent, it was an attempt to get a "name" under his belt. were talking about the same kermmit cintron who dove out of the ring against williams and basically played dead. same thing when amir khan faced juddah, juddah was more of a "name" than he was competition. cintron has lost his fighter spirt. all cintron did was pump the jab all night, he didn't commit to the right until he was already too far gone.
Veechie4short 2 months ago
@Veechie4short Obviously Cintron is questionable, we all remember what Kermit "The Frog" Cintron is capable of. He also has the opposite nights where he comes up big and he was coming off a decent win. Still bviously he is not the hardest guy out there to fight everybody knows. With regards to Canello challenging Mayweather is not smart. He should fight Martinez, Cotto, Margarito, Chavez Jr. etc fist. Floyd's too much of a step up, when "who knows" if he could beat any of the above listed.
checklefthook 2 months ago
@Veechie4short He's been "brought along" enough already, i agree with you completely on that.
checklefthook 2 months ago
@checklefthook Can't compare angulo with alvarez, angulo is one dimensional, alvarez is more of a complete boxer.

Canelo is good, ppl forget he's only 21 and taking it easy on a vetetan like Cintron. Perspective? Cintron beat Angulo. Cintron is Margarito's second biggest win of his career. Not even Sergio Martinez knocked out Cintron

are u wanting him to fight mayweather based on his ability to sell a fight or because he is deserving based on the opposition he has faced?
usamvp 2 months ago
Saul Alvarez also posseses the only belt Floyd cares about. THE WBC. I've always said if you want a fight with Floyd and you're in or around his division do whatever you have to do to get the WBC belt. Floyd considers it the 'real belt', and has loyal to them since his early days as a pro. Mayweather vs Alvarez is as good as done if Mayweather vs Pacquiao doesn't come off.
Brugality 2 months ago
@Brugality Why no mention of the Golden Boy factor? It doesn't hurt Canelo that Floyd hasn't fought a non-Golden Boy promoted fighter since Zab.
SmelOdies 2 months ago
@SmelOdies
thats more because bob arum hates him. There isn't any good lou or shaw fighters form him to fight.
OralLepercy 2 months ago
@OralLepercy I know it's the popular conceit now, but I'm not convinced Bob Arum is the reason Pac isn't fighting Floyd. How do we know behind closed doors Manny hasn't told him, "I don't want to fight him" or "Bob don't make me take random tests whatever you do"? If that were the case, Bob would act exactly how he's doing, deflecting onto Floyd. I suspect if Floyd wanted Cotto or Margarito, you'd see Top Rank sit down at the table.
SmelOdies 2 months ago
@SmelOdies
I don't know about that. Arum doesn't want floyd to make money off of his fighters.

@Brugality floyd gains nothing from beating him. he's had the wbc 154 title now, if it was the 160 then I'd agree
truBoxingfan 2 months ago
@truBoxingfan floyd gains a great deal beating a young powerful star and exposing his defensive weaknesses and gets a nice payday against a dangerous fighter.....much better to see than MANY of floyd's safer opponents....
flyinghotwing 2 months ago
@flyinghotwing nothing the general population doesn't know who canelo is . Ortiz was known for the peterson n Berto fight in the states . I see no reason for him to fight Canelo floyd already has a 154 title
truBoxingfan 2 months ago
@flyinghotwing he gains nothing from this fight, because whwn he wins everyone will say he was supposed to. it's the mayweateher effect. ortiz was supposed to be that young, strong, dangerous fighter, who had a tought style (south paw). then when mayweather beat him it was no big deal lol. same would happen with alverez. everyone will sit back and say no big deal, canelo is only 21, and the excusues wil continue to roll
Veechie4short 2 months ago
@Veechie4short you can make excuses after fights all you want, but the tough 21 yr old...would be a good tough test for mayweather just because he can punch, and he would be in shape to continue coming after floyd, floyd would get a workout and continue rolling punches all nite, but i think it would be exciting even if floyd wins and he should win quite handily....canelo would benefit from the clinic and would still have a chance if he could get inside and land a couple big shots...interesting.
flyinghotwing 2 months ago
@flyinghotwing he wouldn't be a test for mayweather? what test has canello had? he's fought ALL BUMS until this this point. name one top 10 contender that he's faced? he he has a title and is offering title shots to bums. so we don't even know if he can fight at this point. his toughest opponent was carlos baldomir and he has like 12 losses. everyone loves to bring up the fact that someone can hit hard. but if you can't land the punch then so what. floyd has been hit hard 2wice in 42 fights
Veechie4short 2 months ago
when he used to fight a little more often he fought guys much lesser in caliber than canelo, who is young and untested but has raw talent and comes to fight, it would be good to watch, much better than floyd running circles agaisnt ol shane, or baldomir or the late gatti, and a few other boring fights, this would be exciting and even if floyd pitches a shutout he is fighting at 154 against a young man who can bang, just the suspense of it would be worth it, floyd needs all he can to gain legacy
