  • AMEN shawndaven

  • REST IN PEACE YOU WONDERFUL SOULS.

  • Cash e Clash!

  • There's a lot of cool in this song.

  • If anyone's interested, I'm selling the Cash Unearthed box set on eBay right now with a bargain starting price of £9.99!

  • The only reason that i still throw on a bob marley tee shirt and listen to bob is because music is one of the only thing thats real these days.

And bob keeps it real. Love and peace.

  • I totally agree with the most recent poster (though hey mon, your screen name is a bit scary!). This is a lovely version of a lovely song, message perfect as a tribute to Dr. King. Too bad that the message still remains relevant in our violent world. Solidarity & Peace.

  • perfect song to play on mlk day

  • I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't tap into the monumental emotional feeling that this cover ignites. Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer singing a Bob Marley song...holy fucking shit!

  • 1:26 autotune? wtf?

  • @FilippoMedas i dont hear it. the fact that these two great men collaborated at all should make you happy, dont go judging the music

  • @FilippoMedas I can see where you would think that, but that my friend, is the actual ability to sing :)

Very sad that kids today don't have these two in their lives.

  • @mocavius hei, keep calm, i've said that because the transition between the notes are really innatural, maybe, the age ruined his voice, as happened to Cash, but his voice is more natural than joe, that's all...

  • brilliant! no other word.

  • Two of the greatest ever, together, singing a song by another of the greatest..how could it be any better!

  • Oh hell yes.

  • I'd have adored to have heard how it would have sounded if Marley was involved with this as well. I can imagine it working nicely.

  • AMEN

  • Rather be a johnny cash or Joe strummer than a cliff richard or barry manilow

  • Love the photo on the video. Says it all really.

  • guys please

  • I kind of feel like a better person now. R.I.P Joe, John, And Robert.

  • so much soul.

  • That brought a tear to my eye did that! like the the person just before me said....No Bob,No Joe & No Johnny ( R.I.P) all three

  • No Bob

    No Johnny

    No Joe

Why does everything have to come to an end :(

  • Bob, Joe,Mr.Cash R.I.P

  • I remember both the days when Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer died Even though I was only 5. I remember my mother and father crying when Joe died and my sister for days when Johnny died and I was just like why is everyone crying...but now I can completely understand this song is beautiful

  • .....Joe (John is his real name) Strummer's life was one disaster or miracle after another.....more or less abandoned (along with his older brother, who committed suicide before he was 21) by his birth parents at age 9!

  • Two Great Losses For Our World, God Bless Them.

  • maigat..beautyfull soong :D

  • 29 people don't deserve ears.

  • This is beautiful, two rebels come together

  • 29 dislikes?? more like 29 douche bags

  • god bless the two of them

  • i hate how everyone has to get all mad at me for saying my own opinion. i listen to super punk stuff (Sex Pistols, Nirvana, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, etc.) and i love Joe's voice, but i dont think it fit this song very well. i dont care if you do, cause thats your opinion and i respect it

  • @heffalumpsandwoosles It is much more than the song itself. Just by havin those two together is a bliss already. It is a matter of recognizing it... or not, as you say. This version is pretty good, by the way.

  • @luizfernandomolina i know they are two very good singers, both in different ways.

  • Perhaps the people commenting that they don't think Strummer's voice "fits" this song should listen to the version where Strummer sings the whole thing alone. Non-Clash fans might need some time to adjust to the raspiness of Joe's voice, especially if it's coming right after Johnny Cash's smoother tone. Trust me, Joe sings this song amazingly well (especially on his own), and it fits him perfectly.

  • Johnny Cash, Joe Strummer and Bob Marley. Seriously. How can you go wrong?

  • Awesome version....

  • TO SHINE

  • We all get Shine Yea! In the New Jerusalem.

  • A beautiful song...

  • 29 people with no eyes, ears or soul.

  • Comment removed

  • Bob Marley's original version of this song is absolutely better.

  • DUDE! This is why I don't give up on you tube, once and a while you find something good

  • I liked it until the other guy started singing.

  • @heffalumpsandwoosles fuck you dude, joe strummer is amazing...

  • @synfan22 i never said he wasnt i just dont like his voice very much. thats my OPINION, geez.

  • Comment removed

  • @TechnoDual i never said he wasnt! i like the clash, and Joe strummer, but his voice didnt fit this song. niether did johnny's that much, but they both put tremendous amounts of emotion in it, im not gonna doubt that. that doesnt mean im not allowed to have my own opinions.

  • incredible!! best 3 minutes of my life!!

  • so fucking sad, but still amazing, hard not to get tears from this

  • ouuuuu va cuircatiii

  • : - )

  • am 54 yrs ,this is best l ever seen,2 best in their field,l that is 1 of the best dou's in rock history, and now they died

  • The Man in Black, The Strummer, and The Wailer... they all died before I was old enough to remember them yet I miss them all and what they did...

  • @konsoloman STFU! CUNT :-))

  • Its so good to see a great music video, which don't have comments swearing about teenager stars...

  • Thank You ... I needed that...

  • I really liked this, but i think i like the original version better

  • rip lads .

  • God played acoustic on this,jesus tamborine...peace out...solidarity...xxxx....

  • Amazing song and again of our time. Theres gotta be a better way. Occupy Globalise!

  • RESPECT.Love ya Joe

  • Legends sing a song of a legend. R.I.P. all three of them

  • @TRuble510 your mom is comical

  • Excellent this. Never been a Clash or Strummer fan myself but he's growing on me. Check out the 101'ers for excellent early punk.

  • @flimbambo 101ers were pub rock. Joe didn't start making punk music til he joined the Clash. But anyways, it's all irrelevant as long as you like the 101ers :) I do suggest you check out the Clash though... They truly were one of the greatest bands of all time IMHO, and rightly deserved to be called "The Only Band That Matters"

  • Ouh Joe, Johnny, if You could see what People is doin' right now in all the part of World, what Indignados are bringin out to the World, the Love for the World. Oh Joe, You will Always be a piece of My Heart.

  • I absolutely love this song! Johnny's more "grown up" voice and Joe's raspy voice! <3

  • How did I go my entire life loving both these musicians and not knowing they did a duet?! God this is amazing, nearly brought a tear to my eye.

  • beide tot, beide wunderbar, beide fehlen so sehr. danke für die bereitstellung dieses wunderschönen liedes. der text ist mir heilig!

  • I like

  • F.A.G

  • I gotta say, as much as I am a fan of all three of these great musicians, hearing Joe sing this is comical and just doesn't work. Just sounds wrong

  • @TRuble510 Seriously? You must not have been a Clash fan then, because Joe Strummer has one of the most-unique, incredible, and instantly-recognizable voices in music history! His songs were (and still are) so powerful and his voice just made them that much better. There will never be anyone like him again. RIP Joe...

  • @iwantcompletecontrol: Not as much as Mick Jones' voice however.

  • @NickB1967 Mick's voice is great, that's undeniable, and I'd say it's just as recognizable as Joe's to any Clash fan. I still think Joe has the edge in terms of uniqueness and unmatchable-ness (?) but I love 'em both!

  • @TRuble510 Try listening to the version where it's just Strummer on his own. Maybe Johnny Cash's intro is throwing you off ;) LOL

  • this is beautiful!!! Nesta Robert Marley<3 would love this!!!!! :D

  • Two of the best R.I.P. Joe John

  • Johnny and Joe, what a great partnership!

  • Love that picture, they almost look like father and son.

  • ok i have a question a serious one. on the cd legend the song with the same lyrics is waiting in vain not redemption song. is my cd just "speshul" or am i just really confused?

  • @Xxemolover024xX either you have a different cd to everyone else or you have it wrong. This is redemption song. Waiting in vain is a different song.

  • @paulmay7777 ok i have legend i swear i bought it myself and i know the difference between the two songs i think my cd's just weird.

  • I miss you, Joe. R.I.P. :(

  • great video

  • szép

  • Cool.

  • awesome for all that feel the love of music. what ever it may be. great singer songwriters. and for the love of all the world.

  • I seriously want to meet the 26 people who don't like this. I'd love to hear them explain why.

  • @MiloBranflakes Because most people want slavish imitations of the original, and because it's irritating to some to have white boys sing a black man's song about slavery.

  • @MiloBranflakes Weep for them, for they were born without taste. Thank the Lord you are not one of them, and can appreciate class. Keep the faith.

  • @MiloBranflakes They lack souls.

  • @MiloBranflakes Must be Justin Bieber´s fans or something

  • weeping

  • When two great singers sing a great song the only thing bigger is the emotion that one feels...

  • Wonderful rendition. Three legends meet. To unearth this, then listen, then click dislike means you got no heart, no soul, no hope so fck off.

  • No hi ha paraules...

  • I cried too

  • i am fighting a fight against oppression and manipulation. i listen to this song every day!!!

  • Great to know Strummer and Cash were friends!

    Both giants-----great photo.Thanks

  • Perfect

  • 23 people can gofuckthemselves

  • @gofuckyourselfish2 What is wrong with not liking this version? Some folk think the original should never be touched.I am a big Johnny Cash fan.And love the guys voice. And this a very different to the original. But Bob Marley did it best.RIP CASH,and STRUMMER

  • Johnny lived in Jamaica.....Joe's birthday is today..props to the both RIP!

  • This is pretty much the Reggae, Country, Punk triumvirate. Hopefully all three of them have had a chance to sing it together by now.

  • @artemisecstasy yes,i agree.

  • @artemisecstasy If there's any order in the universe, they're playing on the same bill Somewhere.
