Thanks for the post, that's a very cool idea! I'm going to do this with all my RC's. Maybe no music next time <shrug> kinda made you hard to hear. Thanks again!
how can i add an antenna to my rc car, i just bought a cheap Corvette car from Wal-Mart and it doesn't even have an external antenna, so the range is like 10 ft. On the box it says the range is 65'/20m but it doesn't go that far. Is it because I am in a building with a lot of other electronics going? I thought maybe a longer antenna would fix it
A longer antenna probably will fix it. Do you have any experience in soldering? It should be fairly easy to solder on a longer antenna. You can use any piece of wire, really.
Just to give you a heads up tip on antennas. They are made to a certain length and the system is tuned for that length of antenna wire. You shouldn't mess with the length or gauge of the wire. There is a reason for different lengths from different brands.
Funny you say that because I just bought a used DX3 LOL, but I still need the receiver. I think when I get it, I'm still going to have a tube, but the tube is going to be shorter so I don't think I'm going to do this...
yea, they are awesome radios. I have the futaba fasst 3pm. It work awesome. No interfierence and i can drive my truck way out of sight lol. But i jsut have an antenna tube and i bend it with a lighter to be under the body. They say some range is lost but i dont really care.
