she left a message who will stay much more time then she was down here... she must be an angel without wings and she must still be around take care about her parents... what a lesson ! Yes we love you too Elena <3
Its just one of those things in life that is simply not fair.. the fact a sweet and inspiring little girl had to go through this to show how delicate life is makes you appreciate the tiny things in life you do have. Rest in peace Elena.<3
while feeling the joy of a MAJOR breakthrough 4 DIPG research this week, a friend reminded me that a key funding source, the National Institutes for Health, is under assault in the US budget debates: H.R. 1 will cut NIH funding by $1.6 billion (5.2%) – cut the budget for medical research to $29.4 billion– back to 2008 levels roughly. I used this site to tell the US legislators what I think: Act Now to Protect Research! links to action can be found via research!america dot org
what strength and love it must have taken this little girl to create such beautiful images and messages, somewhere she is seeing after her family, reminding them of her love. Very inspirational.
I read this story from the newspaper today...I just make me want to cry...She so young so sweet so lovely...She just teache me a life lesson even thought she only Six....You're An Angel,Elena...Rest in Peace......
I watched TV when I heard about this amazing little girl. And I couldn´t stop crying for a while. Now I´m about to read the book, because the messages from Elena had break my heart.
My grandson, Jacob Taylor, died March 21st, 2010 from DIPG, the same as Elena. I want to thank Brooke and Keith Desserich for all of their support and kind words and friendship during Jacob's illness. I have not been able to read their book yet;but, I think it's about time for me to read it. We miss you Jacob.
I read most of the book and I hope to start finishing it it is so sad and I am really sorry I know it must be hard I cried when I first started reading it because I realized Elanas birthday would have been the very next day ='[
i thought that this world and all the sad and cruel things that are happening every day, made me kind of blunted - hope thats the right word.
but this...... tears are still running :(
this is one of the saddest and yet loveliest stories i have ever heard.
cancer is one of the wide-spread diseases that i am pretty sure, could be 100% curable by now, if the world wouldn't invest billions every year in stuff like weapon-research or military but instead in medical science. very very sad.
I found out about little angel Elena...looking through the books
at Barnes and Noble in New York City...i could not leave at Barnes and Noble without buying the book...each page i read makes me cry....and cry... and cry...
I got impacted with her life story, my heart broke into millions pieces...
lilla ängel! jag satt på jobbet och grät när jag läste artikeln i tidningen. En otrolig stark liten flicka... lilla lilla ängel! jag kommer alltid att tänka på dig!
I was just on the website reading some of the journal entries and looking at some of elena's notes. But after the video I started to cry. She was always an angel to everyone and is among them.
I read about her today, very, very sad life story, but we can say that she was really hero. No one can hear this story and not be changed. She is amazing inspiration too.And I know what I'm writing about. I hate that young people are dying including so young children, it looks that there is something bad - absence of fairness...But I'm sure that something changed in my mind...
I heard about this from my mom just today. It happened about 2 years ago, her parents took her to the doctor because she had strip throat and the doctor spotted and realized she also had brain cancer.
She was told she had 4 months to live, but lived 9 months more. She left over hundreds of notes all over the house and her parents still continue to find more.
She was only 6 when she died. May she rest peacefully in heaven.
it is hard not to cry. Elena is now free from the pain and is now playing with the angels. the notes she left behind will be the gift that will keep on giving.
what a great thing to do. she left her notes evreywhere to tell them she will always be with them, even in death. each card is like a hearwarming hug. i can see those parents finding a hidden love note within 20 years and smiling upon it, knowing that their little girl still loves them!
I read about this girl in the newspaper, and i had to start to cry into my coffee. <3 :(
Losing a child is the most cruel thing that can happen to parents and i feel soo sorry for them all. But on the other side, they have something what many parents who lose their children doesnt't have. Something, that teir child left behind, jut for them.<3
<3 Hope you are resting in peace, sweet girl.
