I'm a huge U2 fan, but this has got to be the sorriest live version of any song I've ever heard. None of the band members are in remotely the same time zone. They look distracted and not into the show at all. Bono is singing all over the place. It just shows that even one of the best bands in the world has a bad night.

For sure. Adam has a reputation as being a lousy bass player, but he really does everything a bass player should and he's completely seamless. It's hard to think of any bass parts that would fit better with the music than what he plays. He just plays what makes sense for U2's style of music, and he does it perfectly pretty much every time.

There are some blunders. On the 1st leg of the Zoo TV tour Bono was getting into irony in a big way, and anything that came under the heading of 'being differnt' seemed to count as irony as far as he was concerned. So when he stands near Edge early on whilst Edge plays the piano, Bono peers over, and smirks, its all 'ironic' as far as Bono is concerned. The band do look tired, but they've never taken drugs EVER and have never been drunk on stage. The people who have said that on here are wrong.

You're right about Adam being an alcoholic during this tour. It all reached a head on the final leg when he had to miss a show in Sydney (Dec 93) cos of 'the worst hangover of my life'. After that he cleaned up. However, I'm talking about ON STAGE. He wouldn't be drunk during gigs. Only afterwards. U2's TOTAL drug consumption can be summed up by Adam's cannibus smoking during the late-1980's where he was arrested and fined by an Irish Court. U2 are very clean living compared to most bands.

The DC RFK stadium show from 8/16/1992 was pro-shot by the U2 camp, I think for a concert film. I have the audio version of this show which is awesome, however it does have countless mistakes by the band!. I'd bet that's why it was never released. :-(

Don't you just love the mistakes!! Makes a good change seeing all the overpolished and over produced crap they've put out recently. This DC concert had a quite a few visual mistakes (I have it somewhere). Adds to the ZOO TV experience.

Larry shouting one more bar to Adam at the start, Edge not knowing whether to play the next part of the intro and Adam completely forgetting the notes for the end of the verse so Edge is telling him it's 'A' (1:41).

Just goes to show they're only human. :-)
