I got to thank that AVGN video for showing this game. It is very hard. It's so hard I laugh at the ridiculous deaths, but fun at the same time once you know the enemy patterns and get the full power ups. Finished 2 stages and my hand is very sore. The ghost stage makes me laugh a lot.

It's not that it's "bad" per se, but as you said, it's hard. Now, most people (I think) say it's bad because they watched the AVGN review, and he does have some valid arguments. Consider that these games were usually rented by kids, and if they couldn't afford any more games that week they had to stuck with this. And even for a grown up it's challenging. And it has some minor errors.

Actually, if you get used to the game, you'll find it's pretty awesome in its own accord.

After seeing the AVGN vid I tried it out and plenty of lives later ended up liking it.

You can think I'm a masochist, but the game is not that hard once you get used to the levels.

Although I have to tell you, after the main game, there are two more difficulties to surpass xD
