  • OK commenting here is probably a waste, but.. Where do ppl get the idea that Camaros and other muscle cars don't handle corners? Sure it applies to old hot rods, but my 2000 Camaro SS handles almost as well as my 90 300ZX TT. It can get a bit unstable on really rough pavement, but that's it. I used to have an 06 Eclipse GT and even with minor mods it handled like crap. Too much power to the front wheels. Front drivers suck, BAD. I think the BS about muscle not cornering is just that, BS.

The Z06 and ZR1, saleen s7 are great cars but they are all 100k + cars. Lets look at the majority of performance cars that the big three produce. Mustang sucks at handling, camaro sucks at handling, and challenger, omg lets not even go there. My argument still stands. American cars just go straight really well, thats it.

  • You make any car handle. But still its not all on the car, the driver plays a huge factor. Also the majority of the roads in the US are long straightaways and not curvey snaked roads like in Japan and Europe. Make sense? Also I mean if American CARED about taking corners well they would and could do something about it. Its the fact that they don't care for road course racing and that America mainly consists of straight roads.

  • if you put lowering springs on a z28 you wouldn't believe the way that thing stick in a turn. then theres always the aftermarket custom suspension. mustangs don't handle that bad either. the corvette takes the cake though.

  • There are real imports doing mid 6 second 1/4 mile runs like the 350Z doing 6.6 seconds at 215 mph, Titan motor sports Supra and a truck doing mid 6 second passes. Even a gay Eclips with a RWD setup doing 6.9 and it's a 4 banger. Imports kick ass regardless if you don't like them. If it's RWD and it looks good, I'll like it.

  • There are domestics that do 5 sec 1/4 miles and EVEN 4 second 1/4 miles. Nice try though.

    Called 10.5 Outlaws and Top Fuel series. P.S. Top Fuels are just 500cid Supercharged V8's running Nitro Methane. 500cid is a BIG restriction by the way for a time like that.

  • Plus JUN Auto's 300ZX is using the VG30DETT street V6. Both Japan and America makes great RWD cars but both also make faggy FWD fag magnets. Good tuner cars don't fart when you drive them. Good cars also have torque and traction. Two things honda doesn't have. I own a 91 300ZX, a 95 Supra and a 93 Lexus SC300. I just need a newer Corvette and a FD RX7 and I'm set for life.

  • I'm still waiting for someone to beat JUN Auto's 1991 Nissan 300ZX landspeed world record holder @ 260+ mph ( 419.87 km/h ) and their best time of 267+ mph ( 424.740 km/h ). Chevy's Corvette LS1 twin turbo do run 257 mph but hasn't beat Nissan's landspeed record yet. Ford only get to 241 mph so far. Faggy honda isn't fast enogh to hang with the big dogs.

  • If your car has more power an is more heavier of course you'll have to slow down more than the lighter less horsepower car, a good driver can compensate somewhat but you cant defy the laws of physics(sure i spelled that wrong) if a turn on a track is slated for 50mph you better take it at 50 mph, any car can be made to go fast, just like any car can be made to take turns muscle included, half of the people on here talkin bout muscle cars can't turn, haven't even been to a real track with turns

  • It's perfectly good for straightline speed comparisons, but a track is really the best way to compare cars. However, there's a lot to a car that just one track couldn't compare - it'll take a few tracks to truly test a car (changes of direction instead of just one way turning, suspension on bumpy areas or banked turns, straightline performance versus turning on varyingly curvy tracks, etc.)

    Drag racing does well enough for the simply straightline comparison, but that's it.

  • Actually, proper use of a turbo is better than naturally aspired.

    The only issues with turbos is a possibly peaky power curve and cooling problems. If you use a turbo correctly, you won't have such problems, and have big block V8 performance in a smaller, lighter engine.

HP was invented for industrial engines that operate at a single rpm, cars operate across a powerband so average torque across the powerband is more relevant and V8's make more power/ltr at that.

    Modified magazine had a mitsu evo with 2.0 liter engine.

    1030whp with about 650lbs/ft of torque.

    The lowrider magazine had a 350 chevy block.

    8.0 liter that put out 1080whp and about 700 lbs/ft torque.

    Yep, no replacement for displacement, but I would've expected more from that chevy.
