We watched this in my English class, and it inspired our class to bring some of the Lost Boys living in Cleveland to our school to inform the rest of the school. Now we have fundraisers all over our school to try to raise money to build much needed wells in Southern Sudan, in the former villages of these boys.
This is a issue I plan to pursue for my entire lifetime.
My favorite out of the boys in this movie is Daniel. He truely saw what was wrong with America.
If this doesn't gives you goose bumbs and motivate you as well, then i don't know what will. Because my people has gone through so much. But yet we are still strong.Islamism has tried to break us but they had failed. God had blessed us in every way.
God Grew Tired of Us is one of my favourite movies! John's book of the same name is also a favourite of mine. Amazing story, amazing young men. God truly has found you!! Wishing you peace and joy.
God bless the Lost Boys. If anyone enjoyed this film, I encourage you to read "What is the What", an autobiography of lost boy Achak Deng (ghost-written by the supremely talented Dave Eggers). It is equally moving.
This was a very moving movie. Their perscpecitve on everything is wonderful and should teach us all to be better people and appreciate the smallest things. This movie should be required to be watched by all teens in school. Kids today are so spoiled and rotten.
does anybody remember the part where some guy brings a radio back to the camp and plays the radio for the kids and they dance? if so do you know the name of the song? or culd you post a vid of that part for me plaes?
I saw the movie and it touched me deeply. It is a must see! These young men are brave souls indeed. And kudos to the filmmakers! A beautiful documentary.
I'm a TA up at Syracuse University. Mr. Dau was actually a student in a class of mine a couple years back. His story is compelling and I encourage everyone to go and see this film. It's an eye opener.
