The clue is in the album title kiss from the past,if u watch him live its still mostly electro house he plays now hes just wrapping up his allure alias the same way he did with his trance productions. Best track for me is i am,just wish he would stay in trance though!!

Tiesto have his own style. It sounds a bit housey, but he always sounds like that. If you check his old works, you will see - they were a bit different than others progressive trance of that time. That's called style.

@whatwhatwhat7 that's great point I tried to raise couple of times here I get a bit bashed :P We really dont know if Tijs was much connected with this project, or it was another project with only him signing his name on it(Who is real fan of TIESTO that know what I mean). Allure ALWAYS wasnt only Tijs.. People cant approve it.. It was Tijs/Dennis and Cor Fijneman.. I dont remember who else helped Tijs producing those tracks. Anyway Allure's releases was always high quality. It is undisputalble.

@cyprokka I don't think anybody on the outside knows for certain how involved he was. Discogs says he had a hand in every track, so I don't know. If he did then props to him, he's still got it. But I just don't trust in that stuff, especially with his track record of having many engineers. And I wouldn't say he is a small time house DJ. the guy is probably the worlds most popular household name DJ, who now plays in Las Vegas weekly. He's gaining fans at a faster pace than he is losing them.

@cyprokka remembers 42 and i think he has evolved more although i have to say i loved his old stuff , i think elements of life was his best tour but he is still making amazing tracks although he did make a few dodgy cheesey tracks with the kaleidoscope album which basically cracked america for him and you can't blame him doing that .. always live he plays a decent set , clublife radio is amazing .. he is involved alot with allure u can hear the unique sound ? steve forte rio alias aswell :D
@calbo555 elements of life was definately the best. honestly only heard a few kaleidoscope tracks then i lost interest. well when he did that it basically gave me the impression that he is ditching his famous trance sound so he can work with popular artists and get real mainstream attention, aka another david guetta.
@cyprokka The kaleidoscope was an experiment still some ok tracks but i don't think he is trying to get mainstream attention , he is absolute loaded before he done electro and wanted to work with ppl he couldn't through doing trance. He just wants to appeal to different fans aswell as keep his old ones which is hard but he's doing good working with allure and under the alias steve forte rio " slumber " is amazing and so is this , his new albums actual amazing :D
@calbo555 see the thing is if he wants to do something to appeal to different fans, he should try making good music out of his similar trance sound while working with those artists he wants to work with. it is possible to make trance/rap, (for example: chicane - going deep), and thats something we havnt seen in a long time. im sure iv heard trance-rap fusions before but not for at least a decade.

@whatwhatwhat7 I wouldn't exactly say trance is dead because there are still some phenomenal tunes being put out there, but I do agree that for the most part, it's starting to get a bit dry. 1993-2007 was incredible for me, but since then I've been getting less and less interested. I'm really glad Tijs has stepped out to explore other sides of EDM as well, adding the Tiesto flair along the productions and sets! Tracks like "Beautiful World," "Feel it (Instrumental)," and THIS are the result!

@wuddin212 no doubt tiesto has done heaps to make trance massively popular. he even performed at the athens olympics, now id say thats pretty huge. the difference between him and armin? armin hosts the most popular radio station in the entire world, armin has been voted the best producer in the world for 4 years in a row and could still be voted number one again this year. not to mention the fact that armin is still a trance producer while as soon as tiesto went house, his fans dropped.

@cyprokka I actually DON'T think Tiesto, Armin, Guetta, or Van Dyk deserved to be in the top 5 for quite a few years. They all had ups and downs. If you want to go by these polls, Tiesto was voted "The Greatest DJ Of All Time" recently by Mixmag. Another note - all of Tiesto's fan's didn't drop when he changed his style, just the guys that can't appreciate EDM sounds besides what they think is Trance. I'm not trying to diss any producer here. Just think most styles of EDM should be appreciated

@cyprokka oh man if you only knew how much are you wrong ;) Tijs isnt producing anything since he came into trance music(98'). He always had people who helped producing, composing and so on. He is great performer-no doubt, but his production abilities are mediocre. I think he has great head to coming up with ideas but need people who realise them and make them real. Uninterrupted work with Dennis Waakop Reijers and others resulted in that Tijs is still on top today, even after change of style.

He has tight (VERY) schedule thus it is logical he hasnt time to work/create his music. I saw nterview Tijs said "Im in studio only for basics", He has his team(mainly Dennis) and someone who's searching plugins for characteristic Tiesto's sound. May when he's on tour he uses his laptop + ableton(?) for making samples and send it to studio when it's polished. I dunno

Behind the Allure project was Tijs Michiel Verwest aka Tiësto and Cor Fijneman. Now is just Tiësto and Dennis Waakop Reijers. Tiësto is not playing his tracks with Allure act in his shows so much because now he promotes more electro house music, and not this kind of uplifting trance.
This is something strange with Allure, because Tiesto don't played any of Allure tracks on his show, but Armin played on his ASOT. And on Allures previous tracks names there was "Tiesto Presents Allure", now its just Allure. Maybe other Djs took Allure nickname like with Isos compilation?

Tiesto have his own style. It sounds a bit housey, but he always sounds like that. If you check his old works, you will see - they were a bit different than others progressive trance of that time. That's called style.

@whatwhatwhat7 that's great point I tried to raise couple of times here I get a bit bashed :P We really dont know if Tijs was much connected with this project, or it was another project with only him signing his name on it(Who is real fan of TIESTO that know what I mean). Allure ALWAYS wasnt only Tijs.. People cant approve it.. It was Tijs/Dennis and Cor Fijneman.. I dont remember who else helped Tijs producing those tracks. Anyway Allure's releases was always high quality. It is undisputalble.

@cyprokka I don't think anybody on the outside knows for certain how involved he was. Discogs says he had a hand in every track, so I don't know. If he did then props to him, he's still got it. But I just don't trust in that stuff, especially with his track record of having many engineers. And I wouldn't say he is a small time house DJ. the guy is probably the worlds most popular household name DJ, who now plays in Las Vegas weekly. He's gaining fans at a faster pace than he is losing them.

@whatwhatwhat7 lol yeah gotta say again your right. hes gaining more followers but hes definately losing some too. honestly he hasnt lost me. i like his new sound quite a bit too. but it will just never reach the quality of his old trance sound. i would not call him the leader of house music, that title is reserved for djs like shitty david guetta and swedish house mafia. but when he was doing trance he was god. the undisputed leader of trance and he traded that title for a lesser one.

@cyprokka remembers 42 and i think he has evolved more although i have to say i loved his old stuff , i think elements of life was his best tour but he is still making amazing tracks although he did make a few dodgy cheesey tracks with the kaleidoscope album which basically cracked america for him and you can't blame him doing that .. always live he plays a decent set , clublife radio is amazing .. he is involved alot with allure u can hear the unique sound ? steve forte rio alias aswell :D

@calbo555 elements of life was definately the best. honestly only heard a few kaleidoscope tracks then i lost interest. well when he did that it basically gave me the impression that he is ditching his famous trance sound so he can work with popular artists and get real mainstream attention, aka another david guetta.

@cyprokka The kaleidoscope was an experiment still some ok tracks but i don't think he is trying to get mainstream attention , he is absolute loaded before he done electro and wanted to work with ppl he couldn't through doing trance. He just wants to appeal to different fans aswell as keep his old ones which is hard but he's doing good working with allure and under the alias steve forte rio " slumber " is amazing and so is this , his new albums actual amazing :D

@calbo555 see the thing is if he wants to do something to appeal to different fans, he should try making good music out of his similar trance sound while working with those artists he wants to work with. it is possible to make trance/rap, (for example: chicane - going deep), and thats something we havnt seen in a long time. im sure iv heard trance-rap fusions before but not for at least a decade.

Aslong as he keeps making tracks like this under allure he will be producing gems in future.. He seems to like the electro sound so you can't blame him for moving onto better things !

@whatwhatwhat7 I wouldn't exactly say trance is dead because there are still some phenomenal tunes being put out there, but I do agree that for the most part, it's starting to get a bit dry. 1993-2007 was incredible for me, but since then I've been getting less and less interested. I'm really glad Tijs has stepped out to explore other sides of EDM as well, adding the Tiesto flair along the productions and sets! Tracks like "Beautiful World," "Feel it (Instrumental)," and THIS are the result!

Even Armin has been stepping out of the trance comfort zone a bit - and he's the one that has always supported breaking out of the "box." Trance nowadays has lost some of the taste it had even 2-3 years ago. Not that there isn't phenomenal stuff as well, but lots of it has become repetitious. The same chords over and over

@wuddin212 no doubt tiesto has done heaps to make trance massively popular. he even performed at the athens olympics, now id say thats pretty huge. the difference between him and armin? armin hosts the most popular radio station in the entire world, armin has been voted the best producer in the world for 4 years in a row and could still be voted number one again this year. not to mention the fact that armin is still a trance producer while as soon as tiesto went house, his fans dropped.

@cyprokka Agreed, Armin has done a phenomenal job keeping the trance scene together, no doubt. Guys like Tiesto got it there and Armin has been pushing it and deepening the community. I still listen to and care about the tunes most trance biggies produce! Now on to being voted the "Best DJ In The World." You forget that David Guetta has also been voted in the top 3 for a number of years. Many people who vote on those polls are like Mr. ArtherSpider82 here who vote like blind fanboys.

But I love Dubstep more. I listen also to Ambient and Post-Rock. Honestly I listen almost evry genre but it has to be a REALLY good song, like this one from Tiesto. @cyprokka I actually DON'T think Tiesto, Armin, Guetta, or Van Dyk deserved to be in the top 5 for quite a few years. They all had ups and downs. If you want to go by these polls, Tiesto was voted "The Greatest DJ Of All Time" recently by Mixmag. Another note - all of Tiesto's fan's didn't drop when he changed his style, just the guys that can't appreciate EDM sounds besides what they think is Trance. I'm not trying to diss any producer here. Just think most styles of EDM should be appreciated

@cyprokka oh man if you only knew how much are you wrong ;) Tijs isnt producing anything since he came into trance music(98'). He always had people who helped producing, composing and so on. He is great performer-no doubt, but his production abilities are mediocre. I think he has great head to coming up with ideas but need people who realise them and make them real. Uninterrupted work with Dennis Waakop Reijers and others resulted in that Tijs is still on top today, even after change of style.

@cyprokka he doesnt has to make majority of his work. All is based on agreements and people working for him agreed his terms. He has tight (VERY) schedule thus it is logical he hasnt time to work/create his music. I saw nterview Tijs said "Im in studio only for basics", He has his team(mainly Dennis) and someone who's searching plugins for characteristic Tiesto's sound. May when he's on tour he uses his laptop + ableton(?) for making samples and send it to studio when it's polished. I dunno

Behind the Allure project was Tijs Michiel Verwest aka Tiësto and Cor Fijneman. Now is just Tiësto and Dennis Waakop Reijers. Tiësto is not playing his tracks with Allure act in his shows so much because now he promotes more electro house music, and not this kind of uplifting trance.

This is something strange with Allure, because Tiesto don't played any of Allure tracks on his show, but Armin played on his ASOT. And on Allures previous tracks names there was "Tiesto Presents Allure", now its just Allure. Maybe other Djs took Allure nickname like with Isos compilation?
