@CriticalQuestion You seem to be a nice, calm, genuine, humble, sensible person; I think you simply misunderstood ZJ.
For you, I highly recommend QualiaSoup's videos on morality, "Morality 1: Good without gods" and "Morality 2: Not-so-good books". Although you may not agree with this viewpoint, still I think someone like you would appreciate hearing the perspective.
you could just read a bible then you could see why christianity and judaism are immoral and evil, and you could read a koran to see why islam is evil and immoral, its all quite simple, anyone who does not follow these evil ideas are not really christians, jews, or muslims are they?
@naturalistmind I've read the bible several times. When I was younger I was shocked and confused about some of the things I read. The confusion came from mixing up the stories of morality that we should emulate and the stories of historical record. For example the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is not to suggest we should destroy cities that are exceedingly wicked. It's to show that the world had progressed to such a wicked state that God felt it would better destroyed.
It is not that we should destroy cities that are wicked... its wicked cities should be destroyed? Did you really just say that? Are you really that .... oh never mind I can see it is a waste of time to talk to you
@naturalistmind Knowing this helps us understand the world at the time, something about the personality and character of God, and later events in the bible that are related. It isn't a suggestion that we should destroy others. That is an immature understanding of the passage. Unfortunately some churches today find it hard to differentiate between passages of morality and history. And, as it seems, secular people as well. Regardless, misinterpretation is common in everything.
The US features the most sexually saturated media. BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA...LOLs the European. Spouting non facts calmly...doesn't make 'em factual.
"... this simple mental exercise" to which you allude ignores the fact that the rest of the 50 congregations' members get to vote, and thus influence public life based on their beliefs... Actually, to split the hair more finely: some of them vote based on their beliefs, which, if based on the good(?) book are ...backwards to put it mildly.
8) I'm not even addressing your other points because my soul can't take it. I just want to clear up that you might think I don't care about you or your well being and am only out to get you. The fact of the matter is you cannot expect me to be okay as a woman, a mother, a wife, as anyone while PEOPLE LIKE YOU DENY THE FACT THAT THEIR ACTIONS HAVE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES. The only retaliation you seem to offer is that not EVERYONE does this/that.
Well honey, people still do it. And it is a problem
6) 6.26 and in only 30 seconds worth of listening, my only coherent response is WHAT THE FUCK. YES IT DOES.
Lies of Omission are still LIES and lying is wrong. Not telling someone something because you fear it could influence their decision making process is morally WRONG and borderline DECEITFUL ( the border being that if no one asks, it is not deceit but if they do and you outright lie -and they will ask- that IS deceit, period). Put that in your ten commandments, bub.
5) 5.53 It sounded like you were about to drop a bomb so i'll tackle little by little.
No one is speaking about 3rd world countries who don't have public education. The chart addressed the distribution seen in the United States, a 1st world country with a solid public education system and all means to teach evolution that chooses not to based on Christian ideals.
And as for charity, what on earth does that have to do with evolution in public schools? Its nothing but PR anyways.
3) at 4.41 Saying that just because not everyone commits rape that rape is not an issue would not be a valid point. People protest abortion clinics BECAUSE of their involvement with Christian ideals.
So far all you're saying seems to be "We're not ALL like that, ergo you can't claim these things are real problems".
2) at 3.21 now. You said the fact that people lose family due to religious divisiveness isn't true because ZJ didn't include studies that you've made a point to say you don't want to include either? Nuff said.
The assertion that people "gain family" from religion does not even address this. Its like, at best, saying "I killed 10 people so that 20 could live and that's perfectly okay!" Again, that's stretching it by assuming more people gain family than lose it due to religion.
News Flash, apparently over 50% of the population in a vast majority of all US states believe "God Hates Fags".
I'm probably going to leave more than one comment despite the fact this is months old and despite the fact I'm only at 2.06
1) Just because not ALL people believe it does not mean that it is not a problem that stems DIRECTLY from Christianity. If you wanna be choosy about the bible, that's your beef.
@ the referance that christians deminish education: yes. texas school books now no longer contain referances to evolution and thus deny children there of decent education in the area of at least science. this cannot allow 2 go on. 2 sum up everythin instead of goin point by ridiculous point, 2 avoid the negative effects of fundamentalists, religion should be don't ask don't tell. leav it at home and even away from children its not a necessary part of life and causes problems
2 the 1st part of the video: yes, this does qualify. if a religion is 2 b judged, it should b judged by the behavior of its members. if most members r daming nonbelievers 2 hell, this is relevant. if people r turning thier children away because of homosexuality and nonbelief, this is relevant. this is bad, this out weighs any family one gains because the hurts last longer and cut deeper then superficial affection
You keep trying to justify things that Christians do (killing people they suspect of being witches, harassing people at abortion clinics) by basically saying "Weeeeell, there are thiiiiiiiis many Christians, and only a tiiiiny portion actually do this stuff.' If there wasn't any religion in the first place, these types of things really would be a rare occurrence.
I'm sorry, I don't think you're a bad person. I don't even think you're unintelligent, I just dislike the way you debate.
@TMBrd89 uhm the creator of us was God and he has a book of historically true facts to back him up. Let's see Charles Darwin made up the idea of evolution based on a scientific guess.... A GUESS. Hmm I think God and the Bible trump evolution(macro). Although micro evolution is real basically small adaptations.
I gotta say I found this video to be pretty disappointing. You're basically arguing that because not all Christians engage in these activities, that they are not really a part of Christianity. Just a fringe. They're crazy, basically.
No sir. Timothy Mcveigh was crazy. These people are being told to do these things by church authorities, and yes that includes hunting witches and not treating illnesses and hating gays, it is ultimately no different than you doing what your pastor tells you to do.
you seem like a smart guy...but it seems like everything you cant disprove you just go "well i dont have enough time, lemme spend 5 minutes on somethingbi know a lot about" btw, i told my family I'm an athiest and they hated me for a month
As a Zj fan let me b the 1st 2 say I think ZJ's response to this vid was needlessly hostile. And Im glad to finally have an inteligent Christian whose willing to engage in productive dialogue without censorship or deliberate fallacy, on my subscriptions list.
(from before) certain contexts as to be considered normal. Some people call it progressive, others look at the declining Japanese population and say it's part of a plan to attempt to increase reproduction (still not helping), but by far, you will be hard pressed to find a more sexually free people.
America is NOT one of the most sexually saturated media markets in the world. Albeit, America is no Saudi Arabia but there is plenty of sexual censorship in comparison to both European and Asian media. Japanese media is one the most interesting in regards to this variety of censorship. I could easily say look no further than anime for many examples of material not only meant for adults but for children where sexual behavior is portrayed as not only perfectly normal but required in (cont.).
So.... your argument at 3:30 is the good outweighs the bad? Actually, that seems to be your argument throughout the video. That is a poor argument.
At 7:25, no, not everyone agrees on this. Ideally, it would be, but the problem is that it doesn't work. Abstinence-only education only delays sex by a couple of years. By the way, I'm 26 and I still don't know how to use a condom. Just because I know about their availability doesn't mean I know what to do.
I'm sorry but who are you exactly? Who are you to say what is "normal" christianity and what isn't? As ZJ said, all christians think they are "normal" christians. A red circle on this bar graph doesn't disprove the fact that even the people on the extreme end of this graph are trying to gather more and more people every day to support their beliefs. The fact is that any christian belief supports not only delusion, but also ignorance, with ignorance being the basis of the entire belief.
Belief in an objective set of morals makes it possible for people to hold on to extreme views that fly in the face of logical arguments, the well being of others and even physical reality. Most subjects nowadays must be argued with reference to evidence and possible cause and effect. Yet a religious person will feel no compunction in entrenching at "my sacred text says so". Disagreement and conflict are common enough, but isn't this type of denial only possible through religious thought?

I agree that most christians dont picket at abortion clinics yet most christians are still very against it. Anyone who thinks that abortion is murder is an idiot. Abortions are made illegal after 3 months because at about 3 and a half months is when a baby becomes alive. Before that they do not have heartbeats.
How friggin dumb can people get. most christians i have met do not a very high iq at all. I am aware that it doesn't apply to all christians. Yet most smart people look past religion.
@merhatthat No offense but if you're scale of intelligence is a function of a person's IQ, I feel sorry for you. If Jessica Simpson (IQ 151) and Shakira (IQ 140) are people you consider smart, you need help.
Not delving with the morality of it (I consider it murder, I'll leave it at that), infanticide has enormously negative long term socioeconomic effects. In interconnected social-democracies (i.e. the Western World), annihilating the young now guarantees the suffering of the elderly later.
lol you're a dumb insufferable little teenager who still lives at home with mommy and daddy, you don't know shit about anything and your opinion is dumb and worthless
sounds like a decent non offensive person on the video.. its a shame that he believes in words written as truth in a time when people didnt know what the truth was. one day people will have hope through knowledge instead of depending on a belief in the thing in the sky that no one can detect and their is no evidence for.. except for the fabricated ones

see i look at u, ur smiling right when i open the video, fuck ur like a creepy ugly heath ledger, u dont even need make up for the joker, actually u are just a plain jokeeeee
Nice try at potshotting me, EAF, but no dice. Who told you that evangelical Christians have the highest divorce rate? Who told you that all heterosexuals are Christian (of ANY denomination)? Most heteros aren't even RELIGIOUS! It is YOUR people -- homosexualists and especially feminists and fem-supremacists who teach that "[married] partners or children are nothing but a means to a religious end, instead of the truth that there is SO much more to family than mere procreation OR religion. --FJ
Evolution is one of, if not, the most important aspects of biology. It encompasses so many other points of biology such as genetics (The change in genetic frequency in a group of species over time, a big part in understanding evolution), physiology(Evolution can explain why certain biochemical pathsways functions the way they do), anatomy(vestigial structures) etc etc...
What a ridiculous video, why are you defending the promotion of ignorance?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Takk6 I'll try to make less ridiculous videos in the future :). However, I never personally endorsed screening evolution from a high school curriculum. Simply that it is not a grievance worth tearing your clothes over, if it is not learned in the first 18 years of your life. Religious studies are often omitted from the public school curriculum and I doubt you care... even though religion affects everyday life much more than evolutionary theory. Are you promoting ignorance?
"Evolutionary theory at high school level has no bearing on other aspects of biology" Which I addressed in my other post, as it is a very important aspect, tools you carry on into uni. You also said "Knowledge of evolution has no practical value at teenage level" Most subjects taught in high school don't have much real life values to teenagers, calculus, chemistry etc... But that doesn't make it is okay to take them away, same with the subject of evolution. Its education...
@CriticalQuestion Surely it's **basic** education to elucidate the **basic** science (scientific model(s)) re the **origin** of different forms of life (aka species). And, of course, we've actually improved a bit on Darwin: See the PBS (if I'm not mistaken, Canada typically has access to American PBS stuff on some channel or other) "Nova" episode "What Darwin Never Knew" re genetic switches & speciation. Kids want to know this stuff; educators should edify 'em!!
@CriticalQuestion : People go to church for religion. That is where it should remain. Putting it in school would be if I came into a church, pushed over the priest and taught math for four hours. Science belongs in school. Religion belongs at Church, and since this is America it is illegal for the state to cater to anyone religion in such an institution as school anyway.
@Takk6 Evolution is not the most important aspect of biology; the THEORY of Evolution is. The "T" word makes a big difference. Theory is a product of human observation and reasoning, and within that scope facilitates the ability to make reasonable conclusions. To believe human observation and reasoning to be within the realm of omniscience is absurd and scientifically regressive. If we knew everything (or were capable of knowing everything) there would be no point to scientific discovery.
@HarblTheCat1 What are you talking about? You are arguing semantics.... The theory of evolution is regarded as fact by most scientists. Just like how the THEORY of gravity and the THEORY of how the earth revolves around the sun are also considered FACT. Theory doesn't mean some observed reasonable guess, it means much more than that. Look up the scientific use of the word theory. Also, nothing can be proven 100% but 99.9999999% is good enough....
A lot of logical fallacies my friend... "Finding it hard to believe", and "most people agreeing" . Honestly this isn't uncommon. Though both sides of an argument usually pose these logical fallacies... But that is a question of who is the better argument... Though I will say that even when some of the best of both worlds come together it seems the creation view always argue and sticks to logical fallacy... And when clearly beaten they move the goal post. But I will give you a chance. >>>
and i probably would've saved time by just making a video, but i didn't think i'd get this explanatory. here's a critical question for you though... how do you explain how we as people, vary so very much so as far as our physiological make-up? africans have higher placed hamstrings for hunting native animals. skin color is also because of the evolution to the surroundings, lighter pigmented people sunburn easily... africans EVOLVED to develop darker skin in response to stimuli. gonna end here...
America is the "most sexually saturated" media? You've obviously never been to south america. i live in peru, scantily clad women sell everything from detergent to cell phones to sandwiches, both in person. on television, movies etc. tv shows about every subject you can imagine, and talk shows, you name it often include women barely clothed. you're simply wrong.
@FinalJusticeMovement i'm not surprised at all. i'm a bit puzzled at why you would think the "homosexualist agenda" is influencing latin american culture to have girls with their boobs hanging out all over tv/media though.
full depth of what is being taught, but it's a foundation for greater learning if that person decides to go on to college possibly majoring in biology. admittedly this is spur of the moment argument which might not be making quite the point as i was originally was trying to make, but in all honesty, on that bit, you were just talking out of your ass. evolution also gave me a more logical explanation as for how every living thing has come to be. one last followup after this though...
the study of life... evolution is the act of evolving, typically in regards to a lifeform's adaption to surrounding environment and stimuli. the theory of evolution explains why various subjects of the same species are different at some genetic and physical level. (admittedly kind of rambling..) but to say that the teaching of evolution has no benefit at a teenage learning level is completely ignorant of you to say. admittedly some won't understand at the full depth of what (see followup again)
okay, also... at 5:50 "the knowledge of evolution has no real practical benefits at the teenage level" "...evolutionary theory at the highschool level have no bearing on other learning material or other learning material"... are you kidding? evolutionary theory... based on what you just mentioned as your interpretation of it is flawed. yes, other learning material i can agree would have no real benefit from having learned that, but in biology yes... biology, being the study of (see next comment)
i think that your bar graph is a little skewed... the "god hates fags" should probably be at the very front. mass majority of any of the three main monotheistic religion believers are avidly opposed to gay marriage.
EAF: "Up to 40% of homeless teenagers are gay or [homo-fem]. The figures for teenage suicides & attempted suicides follow a similar pattern." Gee...I wonder why that is. Life brings life and death brings death. Homosexualism is a DEATH CULTURE and those who practice and follow it will know nothing and WILL know nothing but pain, heartache, sorrow, desolation, hatred, confusion, deception, destruction, and death. There's no other way around such a crystal-clear bottom line. --The Final Justice
@FinalJusticeMovement Blaming suicidal gay teens for their own suicides because they were gay. That has to be a new low for you. People like you are the reason for elevated suicides among gay teens. Congratulations on your self-fulfilling prophecy, measured in the deaths of innocents.
Look, ZJ. If you WILLINGLY surround yourself with people who practice dangerous vices (ASIDE from deviant sexual practices), and you cave in and begin following said behavior, you will suffer the repercussions that go along with the territory. There are innocent people who fall prey to this, but at the end of the day they CHOSE to follow the destructive path, and I have YET to hear of any homosexualist who EVER advocated REJECTING the use of narcotics and other illegal drugs IN GENERAL! Eh? -FJ
What's pathetic is not even how you lost all control of your faculties in your recent video, but how YOU could muster up the audacity to blame ME (who is NOT religious, mind you), for the CHOICES that homosexuals make to destroy their OWN lives, as well as the lives of OTHERS with no respective concern. I am NOT the one who encouraged homosexuals to kill themselves, nor am I the one who manifested that men are inferior and must be destroyed, whereas YOU have never NOT encouraged it. Eh, ZJ? -FJ
@FinalJusticeMovement Please. You and people like you devote your sick little lives to spreading the idea that simply loving someone makes you a depraved, diseased, disordered drug abuser, and convincing others to buy into your hateful insanity. And then you have the nerve to act surprised when gay people kill themselves. As if you and your attitudes and society's prejudice plays no part here whatsoever.
What I said to him, I'll say to you too: Your defining feature is your IRRESPONSIBILITY.
(And the pitifulness just keeps on comin') ZJ, Name ONE point in time in which I have EVER contrasted LOVE (which you know nothing of) to disease, disorder, and substance abuse. The problem YOU have with people like me is that we SEE through you and your lies like glass, and we shatter the glass every time you take words like "love" and misrepresent them to EXCLUSIVELY relate to homosexuality. Also, I am NOT surprised that homosexuals kill themselves. Death brings DEATH! Remember? --FJ
@FinalJusticeMovement That is bullshit; I have plenty of gay friends and a gay relative who have great relationships with their parents, siblings and friends.
@FinalJusticeMovement I don't know how you thought I implied that I said they were having incestuous relationships. I thought you were saying people turn gay because their families and friends didn't love them - the way family members and friends usually love one another.
From what you said before and what you have just said now, stop me if I'm wrong, but are you saying that people turn gay because their families and friends didn't want to sleep with them?!
Why the hell are you blaming the discrimination against a group of people on the fact that they are being discriminated against? That's sort of like saying that because I have black skin, I am being discriminated against. Because I am being discriminated against, I can't find a job. The reason that I am being discriminated against is that I can't find a job. That's circular logic.
The fact that you are trying to downplay the importance of evolution being taught in the public educational system is quite frightening. "Evolutionary theory in high school level really has no bearing in other learning material" That, CriticalQuestion, would be biology!
First off, good vid! Please do a response to ZJ's response.
Second off, I hate to say it, but trying to come from a position of non-bias, ZJ really does basically destroy every arguement you make. The way I put it to my religious friends "49% of religion is good, 51% bad, but that's enough to make it better to not have it at all."
I co-sign that, Rolexx. ZJ lost his feathers at the very sight of the shears that was Critical Question and he HATES IT! I myself am NOT a religious man, for the record. I acknowledge it to be concentrated, man-made, controlled systems which manipulate spirituality as much as it implements and represents it, However, where there IS truth, it shall be acknowledged as well. So please... DO IT AGAIN, CQ! --The Final Justice
Wait... what? I was disagreeing with CQ, not saying that he bested ZJ. I think it is the exact opposite. I want him to respond to ZJ simply because I want to see the debate continued and I think at the very least that CQ is an intelligent and stimulating individual, he is just losing this particular debate. If he can pull it out of the fire, that would be worth watching!
You can't point to "Radical Christians" and hold back saying "BUT, BUT, I ignore those "bad" parts of the bible, so I'm not bad!!!" It's pathetic and It's illogical.
You can't take bullshit personal stories and use it as a "proof" for anything. I'll tell you right now that ANY gay or lesbian teenager WILL suffer confusion and pain because of Christian ideology, whether they're directly harassed or not. There's one whole innocent group hurt by it.
Once again, you did not define "normal" christianity. You simply inferred a vague embodiment of it by saying that it is the average beliefs of all the denominations. Hence it is a subjective belief system that changes with the times. What did "normal" christianity have to say about slavery 2000 yrs ago? What does it say today? And if it is based on the collective convictions of the believers and not a central doctrine, doesn't that undermine the purpose of the religion in the first place?
Well sir you must recognize that persecution of nonbelievers is the norm for most faiths and not the exception. The degree of persecution varies but all faith groups seek power within their societies and they are not immune to using violence when it suits their purpose.
Gods retarded. We fight against each other. God should have not made earth a sphere or the countless other galaxies for humans to look into. God is is an ass when he limited lights speed so we had to wait for millions of years till we see real time sht on the fringes of the obserble universe. God is an ass when he created poverty by not creating humans to eat grass. God is an ass when he created different race of people to further create conflict in a species that can't work together. He is wank
"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." - Stephen Weinberg
Religion is harmful. Your defense against this is to just say that it's not that big of a deal because it's not a majority? If I invented a type of microwave and it was known that it turned 1 out of 100,000 people who used it into a murderer, I would not be allowed to sell it. Ever. Period.
"Religion is not to blame for harm done in the name of religion because not many people do it."
This is patently RIDICULOUS. Religiously-fueled violence cannot be blamed solely on the people who do it. It has a root cause: RELIGION. Furthermore, why would you dismiss an atrocity simply because it happened only once? Sure, maybe the number of abortion doctors murdered by religious extremists is low. THEY ARE STILL DEAD. Jesus Christ.
Religious people always tend to pick what reflects on them the way that they want it to and then say that's the norm.
I'm an Atheist, but I grew up Christian and I saw a lot of stuff that Christians like to keep secret. So I know how this really works. I've been to numerous Christian based churches, studied plenty of different religious beliefs and have silently observed more than any loud mouthed person.
I conclude that the average Christian is exactly what you claim they aren't.
The worst thing about you is you probably manage to charm a bunch of easily influenced people into seeing things your way. You sneaky, charming, "Just-like-you" religious types are the worst. Pretending you're not doing damage. Ugh.
wow, you miss the point entirely. Just because most christians don't attack, abuse, and murder other people doesn't mean there aren't a great number of christians out there who do because of their religion.
Christianity, like all other religions, has a very real negative impact on the world. The days where it was useful have passed and the evils it perpetuates are completely unnecessary. We would be better off without it.
this guy totally wants to make out with ZJ. Then he wants to reach for his cock and stroke it gently. Afterwards, he'll get from behind and fuck him as hard as he can. Finally, this guy will suck ZJ's dick so to make his cum fall over his face. Yeah, this guy wants to fuck ZJ.
Hey CQ, have you read the book "Is Christianity Good For The World?" Or perhaps the movie rendition "Collision"?. It's a very interesting debate between two incredibly smart men. It sounds like you may have, as some of the things you mention are specifically mentioned in the debate. Or ZJ has read/watched them, which wouldn't surprise me. I doubt it'll change your opinions on anything, since most people rarely change their minds on this topic, but it is very thought provoking.
@TheStann Yes, I actually have read "Is Christianity Good For The World" but I haven't watched Collision yet... I don't think I knew it existed, so thanks, I'll probably seek that out.
The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.'
You say "no true christian" would burn witches, act hostile to homosexuals, kill unbelievers and people who perform abortions, misconstrue the fact of evolution...
But if there was no Christianity, there would be no "un-true" christians to do these things in the name of the Trinity.
The bigger idea behind evolution is that what looks like "design" is a natural outcome of very simple principles. Very strong bearing on science, engineering, and technology
Alternative to gay marriage, Christians could adopt to the tune of 1 kid per 1% per generation, that would be roughly equal single child gay families.
But in any case, it is the norm in Christianity to not educate kids about sex, and either ignore the problem they are responsible for, or have the minority militant sect protesting about the problem they created.
You might not like my plan, but I challenge you to implement something that would have a drastic impact.
"evolution has no practical application at the high school level?"
Except teaching them concepts that are the basis for all biology and preparing them for higher education if they wish to follow that. Or how about, I don't know, just teaching them. You know, educating people?
Phase 2 in addressing abortion would be increasing the number of homes available for kids. I don't have exact numbers but kids go unadapted every year. I personally am hip to gay marriage since that would open 11M homes per generation to kids, thus making the demand on kids so high that adoption agencies would run out of kids. To fill the gap, they could adopt from overseas addressing infanticide, or target unwanted pregnancies.
I don't have exact numbers off the top of my head, but the last time I looked the US was roughly double birth to abortion over Europe, and roughly 75% of abortions in the US are done by members of mainstream churches (Catholic/Protestant/etc.). The remaining 25% various groups including non affiliated Christians.
The big difference in Europe is comprehensive sex education, thus to me the solution is obvious, to reduce Cristian abortion form 1 million/year in the US, educate.
Sorry, if you don't live in Orwell's 1984, why are you trying to control people's sexuality and create a climate of information on one narrow tract. I find certain christian sects very much Orwellian. The fallback position that is tacitly applied is you're free to believe in what you want, as long as you believe what I want you to believe.
Wait a minute...."evolution has no practical application at the high school level?" Well what the hell does? It's about learning how to learn, and evolution is linked to EVERY OTHER STUDY of BIOLOGY....without fail! Get real, man! oh...and one more thing? Abstinence is fine. But it just doesn't work statistically.
The fact that most cristiand do NOT protest at abortion clinics is true, but u have to consider that (almost) ALL people protesting are religious people, and that is also a fact! (and yes i consider this a problem for humanity)
Indeed most country's where cristians are NOT a majority they do not fuck up the educational system, but not because they do not want to....
PS: ALL knowledge is important for everybody, u can only think about what u know. (evolution is VERY important for all of us)
I'm European raised Catholic. I had my confirmation, but I'm an atheist.
I think people like me are counted as theists in demographics.
Wikipedia says there are about 57.8% Catholics in Slovenia. From my personal experience that's really just a number. Only many old people actually talk about God as if it was real.
Americans seem to take religion seriously, which is probably why most of us see them as a rather crazy nation (crazy in a bad way).
Your deflection of why hell dosn't bother you is to somehow suggest that hell isn't such a bad place? Talk about redefining reality to fit your arguments. While you may not find the ord "torture" in the bible in relation to hell, it sure dosn't go easy on references to eternal burning fire or things like : "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched"
@TheStigma Sure... this sounds like a cozy place where atheists can all go (along with the muslims and all other conflicting views). Perhaps the eternal hellfire isn't really so much about searing flesh for all eternity as it is about comfortable central heating.... *rolleyes* (or rolleye perhaps..)
Don't you think that your argument of "Christianity is, on the whole, not that bad" a bit retarded? If it causes "only a little" harm, according to you, and no g
"I realize I wasn't as clear as I could of been."
You realized your argument was invalid and attempted to change it.

CriticalQuestion 2 months ago
@CriticalQuestion
Soooooo...
It is not that we should destroy cities that are wicked... its wicked cities should be destroyed? Did you really just say that? Are you really that .... oh never mind I can see it is a waste of time to talk to you
rflooker 1 day ago
@naturalistmind Knowing this helps us understand the world at the time, something about the personality and character of God, and later events in the bible that are related. It isn't a suggestion that we should destroy others. That is an immature understanding of the passage. Unfortunately some churches today find it hard to differentiate between passages of morality and history. And, as it seems, secular people as well. Regardless, misinterpretation is common in everything.

ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
7) 7.21 It does not. It is not.
Christians ARE responsible for a myriad of STDs, STIs, and an increased rate of teen pregnancy because they DO WITH HOLD INFORMATION.
Ergo, they don't know what herpes is, have no idea who to ask about a UTI, and think jumping up and down will stop pregnancy.
How the hell is it surprising they don't know something no one ever tells them? How is that hard to believe?
That point was sickening, IMHO. I'd say no offense just to be polite but...
ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
6) 6.26 and in only 30 seconds worth of listening, my only coherent response is WHAT THE FUCK. YES IT DOES.
Lies of Omission are still LIES and lying is wrong. Not telling someone something because you fear it could influence their decision making process is morally WRONG and borderline DECEITFUL ( the border being that if no one asks, it is not deceit but if they do and you outright lie -and they will ask- that IS deceit, period). Put that in your ten commandments, bub.
ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
5) 5.53 It sounded like you were about to drop a bomb so i'll tackle little by little.
No one is speaking about 3rd world countries who don't have public education. The chart addressed the distribution seen in the United States, a 1st world country with a solid public education system and all means to teach evolution that chooses not to based on Christian ideals.
And as for charity, what on earth does that have to do with evolution in public schools? Its nothing but PR anyways.
ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
3) at 4.41 Saying that just because not everyone commits rape that rape is not an issue would not be a valid point. People protest abortion clinics BECAUSE of their involvement with Christian ideals.
So far all you're saying seems to be "We're not ALL like that, ergo you can't claim these things are real problems".
ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
2) at 3.21 now. You said the fact that people lose family due to religious divisiveness isn't true because ZJ didn't include studies that you've made a point to say you don't want to include either? Nuff said.
The assertion that people "gain family" from religion does not even address this. Its like, at best, saying "I killed 10 people so that 20 could live and that's perfectly okay!" Again, that's stretching it by assuming more people gain family than lose it due to religion.
ApplesThatRead 6 months ago
Where the hell did you get THAT bar graph from?
News Flash, apparently over 50% of the population in a vast majority of all US states believe "God Hates Fags".
I'm probably going to leave more than one comment despite the fact this is months old and despite the fact I'm only at 2.06
1) Just because not ALL people believe it does not mean that it is not a problem that stems DIRECTLY from Christianity. If you wanna be choosy about the bible, that's your beef.

cruelbusiness1984 11 months ago

@TMBrd89 uhm the creator of us was God and he has a book of historically true facts to back him up. Let's see Charles Darwin made up the idea of evolution based on a scientific guess.... A GUESS.

Takk6 1 year ago 22
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@Takk6 I'll try to make less ridiculous videos in the future :).
CriticalQuestion 1 year ago
@CriticalQuestion

MCP2012 1 year ago
@CriticalQuestion : People go to church for religion. That is where it should remain. Putting it in school would be if I came into a church, pushed over the priest and taught math for four hours. Science belongs in school. Religion belongs at Church, and since this is America it is illegal for the state to cater to anyone religion in such an institution as school anyway.
Nagneto 1 year ago
@Takk6 Evolution is not the most important aspect of biology; the THEORY of Evolution is. The "T" word makes a big difference. Theory is a product of human observation and reasoning, and within that scope facilitates the ability to make reasonable conclusions. To believe human observation and reasoning to be within the realm of omniscience is absurd and scientifically regressive. If we knew everything (or were capable of knowing everything) there would be no point to scientific discovery.
HarblTheCat1 1 year ago
@HarblTheCat1 What are you talking about? You are arguing semantics.... The theory of evolution is regarded as fact by most scientists. Just like how the THEORY of gravity and the THEORY of how the earth revolves around the sun are also considered FACT. Theory doesn't mean some observed reasonable guess, it means much more than that. Look up the scientific use of the word theory. Also, nothing can be proven 100% but 99.9999999% is good enough....

Media in general is sexually saturated on a
WORLDWIDE SCALE, for the most part.
But this is especially true on account of the
era of the rise of homosexualism.
Ever since the Kirk & Madsen homosexualist

kept finding more and more and more sex on TV,

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." - Stephen Weinberg
Religion is harmful. Your defense against this is to just say that it's not that big of a deal because it's not a majority? If I invented a type of microwave and it was known that it turned 1 out of 100,000 people who used it into a murderer, I would not be allowed to sell it. Ever. Period.

Here's what I got from this video.

Ugh.
TheSim1derful 1 year ago
wow, you miss the point entirely.

TheStann 1 year ago
@TheStann Yes, I actually have read "Is Christianity Good For The World" but I haven't watched Collision yet... I don't think I knew it existed, so thanks, I'll probably seek that out.

All religions are stupid.
Basing your life on superstitions is stupid.
And you cannot show anything that approaches proof for these stupid beliefs.

Also, Luke 16:22-24
The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.'
Sounds like torture to me.

[Abortion 3]

FoxTrotPenguin 1 year ago
[Abortion 2]
Phase 2 in addressing abortion would be increasing the number of homes available for kids. I don't have exact numbers but kids go unadapted every year. I personally am hip to gay marriage since that would open 11M homes per generation to kids, thus making the demand on kids so high that adoption agencies would run out of kids. To fill the gap, they could adopt from overseas addressing infanticide, or target unwanted pregnancies.
This could reduce abortion by another half.
MegaVelvetElvis 1 year ago
[Abortion]

"and evolution is linked to EVERY OTHER STUDY of BIOLOGY"
Not to speak of critical reasoning, and introduction to the scientific method.
MegaVelvetElvis 1 year ago

TheStigma 1 year ago
@TheStigma Sure... this sounds like a cozy place where atheists can all go (along with the muslims and all other conflicting views). Perhaps the eternal hellfire isn't really so much about searing flesh for all eternity as it is about comfortable central heating.... *rolleyes* (or rolleye perhaps..)
TheStigma 1 year ago
Don't you think that your argument of "Christianity is, on the whole, not that bad" a bit retarded? If it causes "only a little" harm, according to you, and no g
