Almost all the times I work on a painting, I think "Ow.. I need a lot a lot and a lot more to do to make something harmonious of it". And then, suddenly, I see it's finished and I'm surprised because sometimes there are just a few minutes between this thoughts :)

That grey stuff is stuff you use to fill in the holes in your walls. I really don't know the English word for it. In Dutch it is called 'Grote gatenvuller' van Alabastine.

Very, very interesting.....I would say that I do not focus on the surface of my paintings/mixed media work enough. Your process made me think.
