you know I just had to laugh, I was watching some videos of that Evolution Of Extreme show on here from this year and in the distance I saw this ride there, that is completely stupid on WCA's part when there's a taller and safer version of this that more people would be flocking to than this one.
@ravballer I don't think this one is a kiddie ride, but there is one similar that is. We go to Playland every year and have been since I was a kid in the 1960's. My favorite is the Hellovator.
@ravballer Then you better try some real rides that I like to go on which are Roller Coasters. Personally I wouldn't waste my time on this ride in my video because going around in circles on swings would make me puke. The Mind Bender, Collosal & California Screamer are great Coasters.
@gratAndmadi My wife and kids are there today going on all of those sick spinney rides, lol. I hope the weather is nice for them. Beautiful clear skies and sun and very warm here on our island .
This ride is called Vertigo. It has in the past strictly come with the PNE and is NOT a standard permanent ride at Playland. So you will not see it during normal times.
However, in July of this year (2011), Playland is introducing a new ride called Atmosfear which is a model of the StarFlyer. It is similar to this ride, except it goes 218 feet in the air. Google it.
@ageofempires619 It is definitely at Playland. Lansdowne is a shopping mall in Richmond and there are no rides there at all. I used to live in Richmond for 10 years a suburb of Vancouver.
@ageofempires619 last year was it's first year at The Fair at the PNE/Playland, West Coast Amusements brought it for the last 17 days of summer vacation before Labor Day, imo though the new ride that Playland just opened up in the middle of July is a million times better than that one, it's called Atmosfear, and it's a lot safer than this non permanent one.
