God I wish I would of had a platoon commander like Nate Fick. In my opinion the jack asses that were Abu Graib caused so much damage to our mission in Iraq that they all need to be in jail for life or on death row. I have talked to Soldiers and Marines who were there before that incident and they have all said other then Bathh party loyalist and a few insurgents from Syria it was pretty quiet. Then the whole thing exploded when the news broke out.
@DevinChief I am not sure but I think the hearing is about some of his former collegues who got sued by the state for alleged war crimes. He was testifying on their behalf. Their names got cleared but they left the force because they where so fed up of all the mistreatment they endured. I know people who'm the book and the series is based upon. He wasn't with them when that stuff they where sued for happend but he is making a karakter testemonie.
@TheFanofFPS Yea, generation kill was a book written by the reporter(evan wright) detailing all the events that happened.....i loved the book dude, it was very vivid and detailed
@TheFanofFPS Yea he wrote a book called "One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer". Details his experiences in becoming a Marine officer during a peacetime military, deploying to Afghanistan, than his combat tour in the invasion of Iraq. It's amazing how much it corresponds to Evan Wright's Generation Kill and vice versa. I watched the TV show w/o knowing they were the same people. Took me an episode or two to realize the identical storyline and look it up.
Beware of this guy and many others like him. Their master plan is to do a stint in the military, hopefully with some combat time, be proclaimed as a "subject matter expert," then move onto politics.
If this man is anything like he is portrayed in the book and HBO miniseries "Generation Kill," I have nothing but the utmost admiration for him. I would vote for him for office without hesitation. Hoo-ra.
really informative and interesting

Both of these men are amazing leaders, I would follow either into battle without question.
And Fick definitely should run for office. He was a great officer and would be a fantastic politician.
