  • magical

  • this is not an AMV.

  • its not really amv right?

    a stands for anime

  • what a pity.. i´d love to have it in german!!

  • I LOVE his accent! I want to marry a guy with that accent haha

  • @bekaboo212 the old cocnee british accent lol

  • The scenes don't match well with the music

  • Ich liebe diesen film:)

  • The worst cockney accent ever committed to film! LOL

  • Great video and love Mary Poppins... but you are aware of that AMV stands for animated music video?

  • Seriously im still amazed at how well this musical peice was orchestrated, its just fantastic , disney just make dreamy music hahaha Quality

  • even after 40 years later i still love this song, dick van dyke was hot.

  • If you write "-2 -2 x =" on a piece of paper your pencil will make a sound similar to this song. try it!

  • @GreenDaySims

My mind.... What have you done?

    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?

  • WHERE'D U GT THESE CLIPS?

  • all disney is now is all modern trash and teen pop who knows what walter would say if he saw what his company became at least disney world is amazing

  • Haha, chim mean penis in vietnamese, my friend was cracking up when she heard this.

  • Everytime I hear this song, I get it as an earbug, seriously. And I might have this as my favourite song in the movie, they are all good but this song always makes my heart much lighter and it's a song one loves to sing along *lol*

  • this makes me smile everytime I hear it.

  • pre transport for london

well at least its value for money

    shame about the london though

  • this reminds me of my childhood so much, my mum used to sing it to us

  • I always hear people singing this in MW2 and can never figure out why...

  • I love this movie!

    Thank you!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • A few years ago on the last night of a 3 week fling through Europe, we stayed at a flea bag hotel near Victoria Station. The Loo was on the top floor. I trudged up there at 2 AM opened the little window and leaned out. Now I'm a 50 some year old construction man, but all I could think was "On the roof tops of London...What a sight! Chim Chee Chim Cheroo"

  • You should have climbed out of the window and danced across all the rooftops singing!

  • I wish they slowed down the whole song. I think it'd be a lot less in step with the movie (less silly). It's a sad song, perhaps someone should re-do it. Dunno, I still love it, though.

  • please dont question such a classic.

  • The song is better, I think, without seeing Van Dyke traipsing around. It's actually quite a soulful song and the contrast with the movie is incongruous. Of course, we have people getting high and floating around at their tea party later on. Overall, I favor Julie Andrews and the special effects, while the basic plot is disposable.

  • thanks for uploading this one!

i take singing lessons in school, and this is my "homework", and clumsy as I am, i've lost the notes and couldn't play it on piano, so thank you!

  • Very nice!

  • How is this an AMV? There's not "anime" to it?

  • The words are happy but the minor key is sad. What is the underlying reason for the sadness? Is the life of a chimneysweep not all it's cracked up to be? Dick Vandike carries the melody ok, but it really takes off when Julie Andrews, a professional singer, joins in.

  • very deep, I personally love when the key and the lyrics are in conflict, it makes the song so much more interesting. Like the Ray Charles song "Bye Bye Love" the words are sad but it's in a major key lol

  • the dodgiest cokney accent until the mockney jamie oliver

  • mary poppins, one of the best musicals ever, full of childhood memories

  • ROFL DICK VAN DYKE

  • IS AMAZING!

  • old song like this is scare because you see the people and talk like a ghost

  • Uhhh this is one of the best movies ever made <3 Julie Andrews

  • It wouldn't be an AMV actually it would be something else because AMV= Anime music video lol

  • major cringe at the attempt of a cockney accent lol!!!!!!

but apart from that one of the greatest films ever!!!

  • This song was in my head, but I have no recollection of listening to it xP

  • dick van dyke is the best! he sings really good! its funny to watch marry poppins and then watch something like night at the museum with dick van dyke in it :)

  • <3 it! lots of character, i havent seen this movie in 5 years, and thanks 2 this im gonna go whatch it now. adios!

  • Fantastic tune reminds me of my uncle Trevor.

  • absolutly brilliant!!!!!

  • it gives me goosebumps in the end, when Julie Andrews sings

  • Memorable, antológico, único...

  • Anyway its a proof of the better quality of the older Disney movies, they got something special and were more lovely than the movies today....

They are good too, but not so good ;)

  • i no wot u mean xxxx :) xxxx

  • @ReFu1990 - no way nowadays a London chimneysweep would be allowed to have a Cockney accent in a Disney movie.

  • @ReFu1990 What?!?! Have you seen Up?

I mean, trust me. I am a big Disney fan, but today's five year olds will look at Up when they are older the same way I look at The Lion King I'm sure.

  • @ReFu1990 The reason being is this was back when making movies was for the art and beauty of it, not money as it has turned into now a days.

  • oh this is just lovely!

    Great video!

  • I love this song. Me and my friend Elisabeth just started randomly singing this in Choir the other day. Mary Poppins FTMFW!

  • chim chim chimeny chim chim cheroo. who needs ronaldo when we've got qeuedrue

  • I like this song. Pity that Dick Van Dyke can't do a GOOD cockney accent.

  • I like his version. It's got character to it.

  • This film is legend!!!

  • I think the role of Dr Sloan suits Dicky much more!

  • I think both roles suits him ;)

  • i love it~my song~

  • ohhhhh i miss my childhood dayz :)

  • ^_^ I remember I would always ask my babysitters to put this on tv, then I'd fall asleep watching it. Lol I was so easy to babysit as long as I had my disney classics xD

  • Spazza camilin spazza camilin spazza camin, vai di qui vai di li e spazziam tutt'al dì

  • i like the german version better

  • bicì bicì bicìbilan on the bilan is the smow

  • I'm a Schornsteinfeger.

And this song is so right on.

  • How can this be an AMV if its not an anime?

  • amv also stands for a music vid

  • Ah, ok, well that works then :D

  • yup

  • In 1970, when I was five, my family and I moved to England. We rented a small cottage in a London suburb, and one day my mother actually had to call a chimneysweep. The door was answered by a middle-aged Cockney who looked exactly like Bert, and my jaw dropped to the floor. He took it in good stride, and told us that this had been a common occurrence since the movie's debut six years earlier. It's definitely the American's Disneyfied version of England, but wonderful all the same.

  • 'small cottage in a London suburb'

    I lold

  • damnit i have to do a project for history on this song grrr

  • hehe.

i have to choreograph a part of this song for my class and theres no video on it. its jsut random shots of birds >:(

  • this song is great ive been trying to find this version in the film. This is great. Thank you

  • U don't know if I work hard for it.

  • Though he's right. It isn't an anime music video, It's just a Music Video. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • same with me

  • This is very sweet!!!

    bjinx***
