in high school I was suspended for using the N word only after the guy I called it called me every hate word in the book, and when I brought up the fact that he called me "honky" "cracker" and everything else I was told that it's not "hate" if it's a black saying it to a white. that school gave me no choice but to be a racist and even tho I dont care anymore there's still hate in me. Come on Black People, this is getting ridiculous. He didn't mean anything by it, watch 2 Rap videos and you are gonna hear Nigga REPEATEDLY. In this case he doesn't deserve the punishment, if we all want to be equal, then we need to start treating each other as equals. So if you don't want a fight, and you don't want white people saying Nigga, then you don't say it either. That was funny! The word was used in America in the process of mentally breaking us down in the Maafaa or Holocaust of enslavement and has been passed down through the generations to the point were we are speaking about it at this moment. It's good that you have that mutual respect there. How are the aboriginies treated? What are they called? I honestly don't know.

Sorry I don't agree with abolishing the Nigga' from my vocab. I have a BA in Psychology, and Professional Tech Writing, So I'm not ignorant and I have read many books on this subject. To me Nigga' is a term of empowerment and an example of semantic progression from its negative state. I use it and I wont stop using it. I'm glad Aaron Mcgruder doesn't agree with you all.

Having a BA doesn't stop you from being ignorant.This comes from someone with a MS in Education.Historically,culturally and literally,I can't think of any other words that were created by 1 group of people,used to demean & insult another group then eventually become terms of endearment or empowerment.I guess you'd support D.Imus,etc.for the words used to describe the Rutgers team-those words have the same history!Do you really think these words will have a "sematic progression"?
