@coralmelissaa Careful now. Don't be too hasty with that conclusion just because he hasn't punished you or make you think he is on your side for not choosing him. For the greatest punishment you could ever get from God here on earth is not of a lightning strike per se. But it is NO punishment at all that is the worst punishment. In fact its the only punishment. The rest is discipline. For how could a father discipline a child that is not his? Whether a child of him or not, remember that.

I hate to burst your bubble, but God doesn't use our standards. To be "good enough," we'd have to live a perfect, sinless life, only one Jesus could live, for which God will give us a desire to live out once we follow Him. God is just, so if He gives us what we deserve, we'd all burn in hell for sure. But God is also loving, and that's why He sent His Son Jesus to earth to take the punishment of death FOR US so we don't have to! He offers us an eternity with Him through His Son!!

scripture is never wrong and scripture says that all we have to do to be forgiven is believe, nothing about sacraments, nothing about whether we are good or not. I'm Catholic and I go to a Catholic school so I know from religion class and from going to Mass that we DO NOT worship statues. Nothing you say can change my mind about my beliefs. I don't want to argue with you. I'm not that kind of person. We say Chaplets to remember the saints, like when my mom carries a picture of my dead grandma so that she can remember her. The important thing is that any baptized person can go to heaven.

The important thing to remember is that we believe in God for our own comfort, and God has been there for me even when it felt like no one else was. Wow. This is absolutely amazing. I am 12 and I love him. My brother-in-law knows him and I had a chance to meet him ,but I passed it up. I don't know why, but that was a few years ago. I've been to 2 of his concerts, mostly they were for college students in the FOCUS program. My brother-in-law is a missionary. I am so proud of him, and I just can't get over how great they both are! Nothing you say can change my mind about my beliefs. I don't want to argue with you. I'm not that kind of person. I know that I don't know everything since I'm only 14, but I am very firm in my faith. We say Chaplets to remember the saints, like when my mom carries a picture of my dead grandma so that she can remember her. The important thing is that any baptized person can go to heaven.

@MenechemShaul It's so stupid that we are arguing about this because nothing you say will change my mind and nothing I say will change yours. The important thing to remember is that we believe in God for our own comfort, and God has been there for me even when it felt like no one else was. I don't believe that any denomination is "wrong" and if what you believe is comforting for you when you need it then that works. That is what religion is for.

@MenechemShaul We do not believe that non-Catholics will burn in hell. I learned this the other day in class; any baptized person that is good will go to heaven. Before that I thought the way you do about the burning in hell thing, so that relieves me because half of my family is not Catholic and that would have been sad. Oh and by the way, why 18? @MilitaryBrat9613 I think wat menechem is saying is if God didn't have to pass his judgement towards us and we could work our way into heaven Jesus wouldn't have existed. You can't work your way out of debt (be a good person) and then have the debt on someone else at the same time. And us humans are eternally in debt. Gods back had to be turned against something and Jesus chose to be that. We dont "work FOR it". We "Work AT it". A better phrase to say to prepare for the new body we will have

Jesus came down and God forced all his wrath on Jesus because it had to be expended. Jesus took our punishment. Now, Jesus didn’t raise himself from the dead. GOD did (important factor) because he lived the CHRIST life and it shows which way of living actually gets Gods attention.

(paycheck) Working AT something is like working at being a father, mother, or son. You never stop working at it. It’s a selfless act. And once we get to heaven, there aint no stopping praising God either. We humans instinctively know God wants some kind of WORK. It’s best to know how he wants it.

I THANK GOD EVERY DAY THAT OUR LIFETEEN PRIEST (OF BLESSED MEMORY) WAS BORN AGAIN AND WAS AGAINST ANYTHING ANTI-SCRIPTURAL LIKE WORSHIPING (DEVOTIONS ARE JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR WORSHIP) AND A PIECE OF BREAD. He was called to remain in the church to take the truth back to it as it lost the truth, I left the Church with his blessing! You put on a charade of being born again worshiping Christ Spirit filled but yet you still Worship Idols, this is disgusting!

@MenechemShaul I agree that the church must concentrate on private communication with Jesus, but just because we have lifelike reminders of His friends and earthly family (icons or statues) doesn't mean we worship them. And what's with the ' piece of bread?' Jesus said and Paul reiterates - we must eat of the bread and drink of the blood, for this is life. And Holy Communion is yet another Reminder - that if we really understand Jesus then and now and receive His Spirit of Truth we eat/drink

Paul says we must think and remember his body (Recognizing his body and Blood). Catholic tradition has always stated that we are not to take Scripture Literally and yet you always prove to be hypocrites when it comes to John and 1Corinthians11. If it was to be trans and not Consubstantiation than Christ would tear off his flesh and give it to his Apostles. We know its not so.

Wow. This is absolutely amazing. I am 12 and I love him. My brother-in-law knows him and I had a chance to meet him ,but I passed it up. I don't know why, but that was a few years ago. I've been to 2 of his concerts, mostly they were for college students in the FOCUS program. My brother-in-law is a missionary. I am so proud of him, and I just can't get over how great they both are! How great God is to bring me to them! God Bless.

I absolutely love this song! I liked Matt Maher years ago before he was as famous as he is now, and my faith walk since then has certainly been an interesting one...to the point where now I really don't like listening to Christian music at all...
but Matt Maher's music, as well as a few other artists', has a way of drawing me back to it...
