it is cool but he used simple physics to do it. notice how close he held his hand to the bucket edge. immediatly after one tap the drumstick recoils off of the edge of the bucket , thus making have to actually use less effort and speed when compared to a regular 2 handed drumroll. think about a see-saw on a playground and how it works, but the drum sticks is the peice of wood that you sit on and the bucket edge is the fulcrum.
