I own one of these. It's a great guitar. It has a basswood body which is ok, it's just you dont get all the chug that you would get from mahogany. But if you change the PUs to blackouts like this guy or EMGs like I did, it will definantly make up for it.
yo, im just startin out with the guitar right now (been playen drums for 7 years). was wondering how "worth-it" would it be for me to purchase the guitar. i dont expect top of the line obviously cuz its cheap but i want somethin that i can use for a while.. and if yes, any suggestions as far as preferred equipment goes? does it need anything else after purchase?
@JDRUMNYC its nice for a beginner... very affordable.... if you dont know much about guitar its okay to start with... if you have a decent amplifier it will sound just fine... im sure as a beginner youll want to get into high end guiars some time later.... on this guitar you can learn the basics of playing and setting up your guitar and not worry too much on if you screw it up.. lol.. so get it and maybe youtube the basics on how to tune, string up, set intonation, and change your action...
@frontsideflipem word man thanks but i actually ended up buying an Ibanez Gio. found a good deal on it and its pretty damn good... still tryin to slowly workin out the kinks of beginner-ism lol but yea youtubes relle helped me out thus far. thanks broski keep playen
@JDRUMNYC thats cool... i have a couple ibanez guitars... i have 3 i think... an RG170 an RG120 and an RG1570 prestige, love em.... im trying to sell my RG170 for 100 bucks or so.
@notavailableisnotava its not fake... it says VENDETTA in huge capitol letters going up the middle i know.. its the newest version of the vendetta... they thought it would look more edgy.
this is kinda embarrassing, I'm completely clueless to guitars and have 0 musical skills, but i want really want to learn. Is this a good guitar to start with even if i haven't even started with an acoustic?
if it helps, i mostly listen to heavy metal/metalcore....
@iluvgunplanmetal remember one thing over all... never make rules for yourself... you can start any way you want to start... just go 100 percent.. and yeah... that guitar is cheap and easy to play... so starting on it would be a good idea... don't hesitate to message me with any questions or tips you may need... i like to help.
Hey, Im planning on getting one of these soon (getting back into guitar.... need something more than the acoustic ha)... which (dumb sounding question arriving) color do you think is preferable, the black or red?
@toasterhead91 the red is way way better... it has more sustain because of the thinck paint and finish... anything with a ton of paint and gloss will have pretty good sustain..
Got this guitar coming in the mail right now, can't wait, it'll be my first electric. Did you ever play with the stock pickups? How's the weight and frets to you? Overall rating of stock guitar? Thanks man!
@omgaflyingmonkey yes i did play with the stock pickups... they werent too bad... the pickups are what dean calls "high output" which really they are just semi cheapo pickups with strong magnets.... actually for the money they are great... but make sure you have a noise gate petal or some kind of noise suppressor to run through... i guess depending on your amp... but yeah... be stoked
@omgaflyingmonkey weight is good... its light and the frets are flst and easy to play... guitar gets a 6 out of 10 for being stock... if you factor in that i only payed 75 bucks for it then id give it a 10.
@omgaflyingmonkey the only problem is that the tremolo cant really be used or the guitar will go outta tune... keep it tight and dont use the tremolo... haha
@DragonMan933 yes i do recommend! really light weight... start out with this and move to an ibanez RG when you get amazing... or just upgrade this one.
is this custom? i have a xmt and it came with regular dean humbucker pickups. the seymour duncans sound awesome

the only thing bad about this guitar is the fragile head stock and the neck material!

I love how he refers to the whammy bar as "this thing".
