BlissInTheAbyss, I m a pretty moderate feminist and I know you claim to not be talking about me BUT there are enough videos and other sources of hate via media, bitching about the few and far between extremists. You didn't need to make another video about it and I think it only makes the hate worse for all feminists due the sheer volume of bitching going on. AND IF YOU ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT STATISTICS COULD YOU PLEASE leave links to your sources at the bottom of your video?
I like your neutrality man. I was getting a bit confused on which camp was best suited for me the MRAs or the feminists but I guess I am in neither :)
I am a feminist and i love this video! its refreshing to see a video on feminism that does not bash all feminists. I hate how everyone generalizes that every feminist is like a radical feminist. It's ridiculous to the point where i'm afraid to say I'm a feminist without someone thinking horribly of me. Thank you I really appreciate this.
all the more reason why moderate feminists should rise agaisnt their radicals. the radicals follow and idea of feminism that does not favor equality, therefore is not feminism, but they still use the title anyway to do damage to feminist image. its in your best interest to oppose them and whats best is that all the men who disagree with them too will gladly unite agaisnt a common enemy.
Watch out for some of the feminists who will call "Straw Feminist" in your video. I made a tumblr post taking the piss out of Radical feminist and got called a misogynist pig. I did say that rape jokes are funny, which I can understand the hate over. One thing I could not understand was the fact these feminists who replied to me failed to acknowledge radical feminist.
@TheLastDorrito The "actual" definition of radical feminism is vague at best. To feminists it means complete overhaul of the social hierarchy, and even among feminists the criteria for a radical feminist is widely debated. To others, it's synonymous with the concept of a "straw feminist." It probably wasn't acknowledged because it's not a concrete concept, and not entirely relevant to the feminist movement as a whole.
@xlunatichigh How is it vague? Feminism is equality for women. Can we not use simple reasoning to assume what radical feminism is? Just like radical Islamist, radical Christians etc. To an outsider, the term radical feminism can be vague(since they don't understand feminism to begin with), but not someone who understands the ideology behind it. They know their boundaries. Doesn't matter if radical feminist have nothing to do with feminism as a whole, they still exist.
@TheLastDorrito No, it's not the same as radical Christians, etc. What you're describing is someone who sees inequality everywhere, whether it exists or not, and will go to extreme lengths to make those 'radical' points. That's not what radical feminism is. At its foundation, it's simply means an overhaul of a male dominated society. And you don't have to be a feminist to see that. Positions of power are predominantly male. Radical feminism sees that as a symptom of a patriarchal society.
It's obvious that the feminist movement is going to have irrational people--just like every other movement. But radical feminism isn't about limiting the prospects of women, it's about broadening them. Radical feminism supports sex workers. These advocates who slut-shame and disregard women who happen to be homemakers--THAT'S NOT THE MAJORITY OF FEMINISTS OR RADICAL FEMINISTS. They're simply the ones who the most exposure which unfortunately leads to a very skewed perception of feminism.
@xlunatichigh hence why it would be in the best interests of the moderate feminists to rise against them, think who wouldn't want to join you in standing agaisnt a group that does no one any favor and that everyone hates!
This feminist approves your video. Radical feminists are ruining the actual meaning of feminism (I frankly don't consider them feminist at all). Good video.
I enjoyed your video and I hear you on the part in the beginning where you talked about privileged women who have an enourmous victim mentality and still go on and on about the "patriarchy" and how men oppress them and how it's so hard to be a woman. I liked his video as well.
Have you checked out manwomanmyth (google it) and taken a look at the documentary series about feminism? They're awesome.
@victorsvoice Hey, Thanks! I've checked out that channel before it's pretty good. I wanted to make it clear in the video that I don't hate all feminists, only the ones who favor divison over unity of the sexes. Anyway thanks for watching. I'am gonna be uplouding a lot more videos. Hepefuly my vlogging skills will improve with more time. :)
@BlissInTheAbyss They sure are great. I've watched them on his website quite a few times.
Keep up with the videos. I'm sure you're vlogging skills will improve. Getting more viewers, etc. is very much like rolling a snowball down a hill. The more you push in the beginning, the bigger the snowball will get and the more momentum will be created so just keep going and I'm sure you'll do great.
@BlissInTheAbyss small minority or not, these radical feminist you mentioned in your video have untrammeled power and influence in our society. political leaders are afraid to challenge them out of the fear of losing the women's vote. These women are well organized, educated and wealthy and have been fighting to change the laws with much success to be biased aganist men. nonbiological child support. child custody laws, and alimony. are just a few that favor women over men.
