once upon a time, 16 was the consenting age for a girl to get married. If your going to bash a song then at least look at all the facts. He said he'd wait for her till the end of time ( if necessary ), He's just trying to convey how he feels for her as of the here and now. He never implies doing anything inappropriate with her.
