  • very nice. looks nice and moist for your little babies

  • I will buy next week a terrarium for my nepenthes. I wanted to ask you, if the plants are not in the pots, how much water do they need??? Sould i water them ones a day or two??

    Thanks

  • Nice setup dude

  • What's up with people that don't talk

  • 9 dislikes? Bugs.

  • i think you should take the s. swaniana x luecophylla, s. x catesbaei and the fly trap out and put the outside somewhere sonny and high. since i did this my plants they have been thriving they would also become sturdier. the nepenthes ventricosa i would plant higher up so the pitchers can hang (hense the name hanging pitcher plant

  • cool!

  • Hey dude what type of soil should i use for them??? I know they depend on nutirents by eating bugs, but i also want to put ochids in my vivarium

  • Are those Pitcher Plants?

  • Umm....Do you have the right soil?

Also, i wouldn't put temperates with tropicals, different growing conditions (dormancy, soil, temp. humidity, light, etc.)

  • How long have you been growing these specific plants?

  • do your plants do thru dormancy or can you just skip it?

  • lol I'm not sure, I'm not doing anything special for them and they seem to be doing fine lol.

  • Your Sarracenia and Venus Flytrap will die if they don't have a dormancy period. The asian pitcher plant doesn't need it.

  • That looks really nice!! awesome vid, they're so cool 5*

  • Thanks =]

  • wow thats amazing, maybe when some money comes across me ill buy somthing like this

are these terrariums expensive to keep up?

  • Hi thanks for the comment, to make this terrarium it was not that expensive as it is only a small glass tank and some plants, maybe all up $70 AUD. if you do decide to make one make sure that you have drainage for the water, because mine has become water logged and i have taken the plats out for the moment. if you have any other questions please ask. =]

  • are your plants still alive?

  • Yea there surprisingly, but i have taken them out of the tank because water logging issues, but once i drill some holes in the bottom i will re-plant them.

  • you should not keep tropical and temperate carnivorous plants together. Nepenthes require tropical temps with high humidity. While North AMerican CP's need cooler temps along with dormant periods.

  • well thanks for the comment but where i bought these from they are all held in the same place, and as of far they have been doing really well and growing fine.

Thanks for the comment =], please check out my other videos

  • I made a carnivorous terrarium myself last summer. Everything died from bacteria, lack of sunlight, and salt build up. GOOD LUCK!

  • How was there a salt build up?, and i hope that doesn't happen to mine, how long did it take for that to happen?

  • Well when a mommy and daddy love each other very much...

lol Since I don't have 24/7 access to uncontaminated rain water, I would resort to the tap which has trace amounts of salt. Its also windy so native soil also added to the salt content.

It took about three months for my plants to get sick. And then they went dormant and they haven't fully recovered since then. :( I would not recommend putting such brittle plants in a terrarium. It's a doomed experiment.

  • lol thanks for the start, hmm damm well i guess I'll try and use as much rain water then it i coming up to winter here, thanks for the heads up

  • wow cool pitchers.

  • thanks =] mate.
