I don't know of sites. The best learning is from others such as your local model railway club or exhibitions. Modellers at shows are usually a friendly bunch. There's also a range of monthly magazines.
can you please tell me how you manage to get the buffers to stay aligned whilst shunting, when i remove tention lock couplings and try shunting ops- if the stock crosses points or changes direction the buffers do not line up and everything derails, any suggestions to solve this problem?
Buffer locking usually arises because curves are too sharp (which would also happen on the real thing). Large radius curves are needed (around 30") with the buffers all at the same standard height. The buffer heads should be sacle size too, not smaller.
