Very nice instrument! I generally prefer the sound of the clavichord to that of the pianoforte, but this one fits my taste especially well, thank you!
" this Bourrée is from a suite for lute or harpsichord, which has been preserved in three manuscripts; two in E minor and one in A minor. The A minor version seems to fit the harpsichord well, whereas in E minor it is throughout very low." ....from Pekka Vapaavuori - Hannele Hynninen.
I know they make clavichords with aluminum frames/unfretted nowadays but I do admit I like the 'folksy' sound of the 15th~17th century fretted clavs. Very nice 16th century craftsmenship, and happens to be my favorite because of the portruded keyboard.

In A minor version is to fit for the small keyboard clavichord.
tciaghi, I'm making a recital program for a school project. Can you tell me any special characteristics about this music? Specific contexts, historical saying about this bouree? What should we listen for in this music? Nice playing by the way.
I am mainly a maker of harpsichords and clavichords but what I can say about that bourrée is usually to the beat of dance track but personally I prefer the slower pace.
There's something about the recording, or the positioning of the mike (or your performance?) that really doesn't do the clavichord justice. If someone wanted me to recommend the instrument to him, I wouldn't direct him to this video.
This fretted clavichord is linked to the meantone temperament groups 2-3-4 double wire for key.
For this registration has been placed a microphone about half a meter away from the soundboard.
I believe that the broken bridges of Italian schools allow greater sonority compared to monolithic bridge of the other schools, moreover, the final sounds also depends on other thousand factors.

IldivoRenatello 2 years ago
This just needs some metronome work. It's better to play slowly and evenly than at a more accepted tempo but with bits where you stumble.

The metronome was invented in the nineteenth century.

Don't keep rushing the tempo up and down. Other than that, you nailed all the notes.

faltan los ritornellos...jajaja
artubian 3 years ago
tciaghi 3 years ago
No?!?!
scionpol 3 years ago
tciaghi 3 years ago
scionpol 3 years ago
allcontakt 2 years ago
scionpol 2 years ago

Tanks for posting!! More please!!
Is that a triple fretted clavichord? Is there more volume with this type of clavichord or is it just the recording?
thanks!
