Mitch, you did a fabulous job of teaching those knots. I am very familiar with knot work due to my trade and have rarely seen such clear instruction given on how to tie a knot. Great Job!!
The second knot will prove useful, the others are just fancy versions of regular knots. There are 3 types of knots, adjustable, quick release, and permanent. That would make a good video rather than showing one adjustable and two permanent.
@johnmonk66 I disagree, most knots can be made quick release, it is not a knot type, also these are not fancy versions of anything, Im not sure what a "regular" knot is. They are what they are, simply great knots to set up a fly camp, if you try them on tarps you will see the ease and versatility. One knot for each side of your Ridgeline that fulfill specific roles.. the other (Square) is a great all purpose knot for securing items to your ruck etc. 3 that complete most tasks, thus they are key.
Hi Mitch! Segho! The Square knot and the Double Half Hitch are related but the Tautening knot is related to the Prussic Family. Great Vid! keep up the good work!
@richardhummell2497 The reason i put Taut-Line Hitch and Two-Half Hitches in the same family is they both wrap around to compress on a line just like the Prusik Knot, one is better suited to tighten toward the dead-stop, the other away from the dead-stop.. other than one starting over, and the other starting under, they wrap the same, also Taut-Line has one more wrap, so in essence their the same knot..
Great video, thanks for explaining each knot so well, I have always been boggled by people trying to remember entire book's worth of different knots when all you really need is a few different but versatile ones.
Mitch, you do a great job on your vids. Good pace, not too fast and not to slow. Just get your mug a little closer when you sign in or out so we can actually see you ;) See you in a couple weeks bro.
Mitch you are so good at this! Thanks for the close up, I have learned something new from every one of your vids! Best of luck on the vids, you are a natural!

Glad you explained their use. Many people skip that part. Add a trucker's hitch and bowline and you are good to go for about 80% of your needs!

@lesterskinner Yeah just starting with these three, agreed add a few more and your good to go!
