@epicatum. DNB is not a music genre, it is re-mixing OTHER genres. It deserves very, very little respect. The producers of the J5's music were nearly all black. The fact that people who remix are largely white reflects not on their colour but only that they are not musicians, they are just DJs and sadly most of them are not talented enough to compose or produce anything vaguely original .

the whole point of jungle / drum and bass was that wasnt black OR white going all the way back to acid house its was all about unity - the media saw that black youth were part of the culture and latched onto it as a negative/contraversial story. now that drum and bass is seen as white the same record labels that wouldnt have touched the music when it was flourishing are now tripping over there own feet to make money along new white approved dubstep the now almost decade old "next big thing"
