  • Not bad. Not bad at all. Certainly not as bad as I expected.

I certainly do appreciate that some people regard sloppiness as a mark of artistic genius, and terrible recording quality as a sure sign of a great recording.

  • @Spiritakis Furtwanger's genius is not in his sloppiness, what would be stupid would be to either deny that sloppiness exists or to not be able to perceive the greatness of the interpretation because of it. The quality of the recording is irrelevant. There are plenty of terrible quality recordings of mediocre performances but this isn't one of them.

  • For LMJ314142: the Walhalla is the theme of the scene immediately following!

  • ... reines Gold ... Rheingold ...

  • The video is great CAR. I' ve been listening to Solti before hearing this. Dear G. is on egotrip, compared to this.

  • Thank you car (pronounced tzar in my country).

  • I enjoyed very much your video.

  • Awesome! Rheingold is my fav opera

  • Wait, was that the Wahlhall theme at 8:15? What was that doing there?

  • No. Not fully developed at least. But there is a measure or two of premonition. Remember, the Rheingold finances the construction of Walhalla, with disaterous results. Good listening, LMJ.

  • Yes, Toxic finances :-) Wotan's dirty dealings ...... building castles in the air

  • I always love 4:37.

  • Nice way of broadening the audience, these translations...

    Thanks!

  • I really appreciated your effort mate, well done!

  • I so love Gustav Neidlinger's Alberich!

  • this is indeed such an amazing thing that you have done. you have allowed us (me) to capture in glorious sound the story line (various motifs) in a succinct and musical ordering of thought. thank you, as well!

  • The original lord of the rings! Love it.

  • Tolkien said something like "there's a ring in my book and in Wagner's opera, and that's the only thing they have in common." Oh puhlease! As far as I can tell LotR is much more similar to Wagner's version of the tale than to the original saga.

  • This is simply epic stuff, my friend.
