I had to deal with a cop too. These guys are ridiculous sometimes. I tried explaining to him that the fire department knew I was there (media guy as well as district chief and Commissioner), and they didn't mind where I had positioned myself. He still didn't care.
Let me guess 5'10 white guy with gray hair and drove an suv. I would guess a commander. Called me every name in the book and none of them can be used here
Is the CPD picky about having people film fires? Or was it just due to your positioning? Ive had some trouble out here in the burbs but I hope its not like that in chicago.
It really depends on the officer(s) at the fire. I happened to get to this particular fire fairly quickly and shot all the video you see here before the police had a chance to kick me out. Then, when they finally saw me they tried to kick me out, but fire department personnel explained to them that it was okay for me to stay.
Why don't they spray water on it to put it out?

Yes. He is always helpful when I am at the scene of an incident. I take it you know him too.

I am so insanely jealous right now, I got chased around and almost arrested by a flat foot out there. Great video. 5 Stars++++++
