I wish I could live off the land like that. Here in Britain you aren't allowed to do anything like that. At least you know where your food has come from and what it has been eating. That was a poor shot... haha. They were using a Sitka Blacktail "Bleat" call.. I live on Prince of Wales island and I use that technique to call in bucks in the rut.. Works good for bears too. As you seen in the video..

In order to preserve the skin for further profit, the slaughter houses pour boiling hot water in huge amounts over a bunch of pigs in one enclosed area killing them from the panic and pain, rather than the bleeding. At least here, they have seen what the wild is, eaten real food and no antibiotics

I'm always blown away how many people sit at home and try to analyze a shot as if they were there. The shot was 36-yrds which I am very comfortable with and the bear was quartering away on the shot. Any good bow hunter knows it's not the entrance of your arrow but the exit that is important on a quartering away animal. Shooting 60lbs I had a perfect pass through that came out the other side taking out the vitals. I recovered the bear only 30-yards away 45 min later...that speaks for itself!
Love hunting~~bow etc~~And the shot wasn't good it was marginal. On the video the shot is slightly low and more than slightly too far toward rear. But a bear is different than a deer so maybe everyone that is saying good shot knows something I don't. And it looked like atleast a 25 yard shot, if not more, which is pushing the border for a good clean shot , in my opionin. So at that distance and by the looks of the shot placement not a good example of ethical hunting. Sorry young lady!
@anavidhunter im sorry but did you watch the video? it seems pretty clear that she got him right in the gut/lower back area. He started to make for the woods and she got nervous and took the shot while he was moving anyway. Ill never understand why people get off on SPORT hunting just for fun. You buy thousands of dollars worth of gear, fly a place to a hunting ground and sit and wait for an animal to walk by and shoot it out of the blue.

In order to preserve the skin for further profit, the slaughter houses pour boiling hot water in huge amounts over a bunch of pigs in one enclosed area killing them from the panic and pain, rather than the bleeding. Shoot, if you knew what the meat you buy at wally world went through to get to you, you'd pick up a bow and go getting your own. At least here, they have seen what the wild is, eaten real food and no antibiotics

@crispgadget I do hunt my own, I cannot see how people talk about how inhumane shooting a deer or bear or turkey is, most shots they are dead within minutes, as you said yourself some animals we eat on a day to day basis, are packed in houses nose to nose then boiled like pigs are and fed antibiotics and steroids and all that unatural junk, but yet the people that spout this propaganda against hunting sure dont mind to eat a mcdonalds hamburger everyday....

I'm always blown away how many people sit at home and try to analyze a shot as if they were there. The shot was 36-yrds which I am very comfortable with and the bear was quartering away on the shot. Any good bow hunter knows it's not the entrance of your arrow but the exit that is important on a quartering away animal. Shooting 60lbs I had a perfect pass through that came out the other side taking out the vitals. I recovered the bear only 30-yards away 45 min later...that speaks for itself!

Love hunting~~bow etc~~And the shot wasn't good it was marginal. On the video the shot is slightly low and more than slightly too far toward rear. But a bear is different than a deer so maybe everyone that is saying good shot knows something I don't. And it looked like atleast a 25 yard shot, if not more, which is pushing the border for a good clean shot , in my opionin. So at that distance and by the looks of the shot placement not a good example of ethical hunting. Sorry young lady!

@anavidhunter im sorry but did you watch the video? it seems pretty clear that she got him right in the gut/lower back area. He started to make for the woods and she got nervous and took the shot while he was moving anyway. Ill never understand why people get off on SPORT hunting just for fun. You buy thousands of dollars worth of gear, fly a place to a hunting ground and sit and wait for an animal to walk by and shoot it out of the blue.
If its about the skill, why not make it harder?
