  • i like how all of the actors in fame are not famous.

  • DIE VERFILMUNG IST 1000MAL BESSER ALS DIE NEUE

  • 80's best time ever !

  • God I love that show!!! I wish I was back in that time... I really belong their!

  • is the chick who did the speaking in this the same chick that was the radio announcer in the warriors?

  • I have never even heard of this show. When was it on tv?

  • @Li5021 back in the 80's. It's a really good show.

  • lol! look at the second dancers face at the end of the intro when she jumps

  • gatopfuelsaver

  • Maybe I'm weird but the way Coco is hopping around I find it attractive!

  • Glee is like canned ham. Over processed, factory made, and nothing original about it. Fame had plenty of REAL talent. Lee Curreri is a talented real life piano player. Debbi Allen, a REAL choreographer. Albert Hague, he was a REAL composer of music and composed "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch". Glee has.......Uncle Jesse from Full House. Glee has.......Autotne. Glee's rendition of Rocky Horror......Abomination! Why does America allow this lips and a-hole of a show called Glee to survive?

  • @mlh53057 well said

  • If it wasn't for this show there wouldn't be a gay ass rip off such ass GLEE.

  • @bluricane well put!

most actors are hybrids between Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, woody Allen and sort of gay pride manifesto!!

beside the teachers, the actors seem to have been cast as "has beens" of American Idol!

some covers are great though, beside the irritating Celine Dion syndrome!

Damn that fucking affirmative action dispite of common sense that's to say talent!!!

i have to admit that i watch it for some of the covers ans the two teachers: nobody is perfect!!

  • I forgot about the series until I noticed a cable channel OVATION TV has reruns of the shows.

  • Only Erica Gimpel did something with herself as for TV shows and still does!

Irene Cara was a fraud in the movie! her wreck as for her follow-up career in the biz tends to prove it!

Lori Singer popped up in miscredited and much too soon aborted "VR5" TV series

Herself and most of her composing/teaching or playing companions did have long-lasting careers off screen!

All the teachers in the series passed away.... RIP!!

  • @eagle00008 @eagle00008 - Actually it is not true that all of the teachers in the series passed away. There were 6 or 7 main teacher characters on the show over the years, and only two of them are dead ("Mr. Shorokfsy" and "Mrs. Berg".). All the others are alive, including the actresses who played the 2 main teachers ("Lydia Grant" and "Miss Sherwood").

And many of the cast have had successful careers -- not all are famous, but some of them work regularly.

  • @JNDeFilippis - I stand corrected! ;o) i have to say that both Debbie Allen and Carol Jenkins were recently shown on French TV as having passed away!!

Miss Sherwood actually has a profile on Facebook!! ;o)

LeRoy Johnson passed away (source International Movie Database)

  • @eagle00008 Just checked on IMDB and it doesn't show that either Debbie Allen or Carol Mayo Jenkins passed away. Good news.

  • Scott Bakula aka Sam, "leaped" back to the 80's and into Carlo Imperato body. 0:20 The resemblence is uncanny. Gooshie!

  • can I go back to my teenaged years one more time I wanted to go a school like this when I was in the 9th grade in 1981 the first two seasons were classic before they went to syndication

  • Actually the theme song was sung by Erica Gimpel and she replaced Irene Cara who potrayed Coco in the movie....in my humble opinion, Gimpel made the character more lush!! Anyway, Gimpel has had quite a successfu; carerer and still pops up on tv looking not a day older than 25...what's her secret? Irene Cara has also had a successful recording and acting career, but has been off the radar for several years. It would be great to get these two "Coco's" in a tv or in a film project together soon :)

  • NBC was soooooo good back in the 80's

  • it brings back so many great memories, I adored that tv series, and the cast :0

  • Glee? What's that?

  • right here is where you start paying in sweat!

  • Gene Anthony Ray was my favourite

  • @glennosmansdeiros He is die :(

  • @glennosmansdeiros he had an amazing bubble butt

  • This show is now back on the air, but it is labelled "Glee."

  • @somewhatlongdong Not really, the actors in 'Glee' are rubbish dancers (except Harry Shum Jr. - he can't sing though). There was a similar show to 'Fame' in the UK called 'Britannia High' but it got axed just after the first series.

  • @somewhatlongdong Glee is crap !!!

  • 80s version of glee or what. But i like the movie better than the new one :D

  • Leroy's smile was so beautiful <33 R.I.P. Leroy, you was always the best dancer on FAME :(

  • Leroy was sooo hot!!! Great memories!!!

  • RIP Leroy...

the best dancer of alll time!!

  • dsa

  • they should remake the tv show it will be better :)

  • The original has much more natural talent than that of remake...Always will love this version!

  • Anderson in 0:30? lol

  • Watched the movie todayy loved it <3 It was a lil crap tho.

  • can't wait for da movie

  • this is the song from the 80's movie not from the upcoming remake :)

  • Whatever happened to all these actors? The only way I've heard of since this show is Debbie Allen, who seems to keep very busy as a choreographer; and Lori Singer, who was in Footloose, but not much since. How could these kids have so much talent and just disappear? Or have they?

  • There's a documentary about them on youtube.

  • Youtube: Justin Lee Collins - Bring Back Fame

Nearly all the actors return for a massive party!

  • Leroy got aids and died of a stroke. Carlo was talentless and faded to obscurity.

  • i would guess a lot are probably choreographers

  • @Chicagoan444 None of these clowns are famous except Debbie Allen and Janet Jackson...oh the irony

  • @kookoo78 You can say that about a lot of tv show actors years after their show ended

  • @BabyCarlyle I know...I was just being sarcastic and a bit of a jerk ;-)

  • @kookoo78 Actually they're not famous but most of them have worked regularly and seriously in that business that is saying a LOT. That guy who played Bruno produces and composes music for tv shows and movies evidently he's pretty well know for it. And the one that played Cocoa has done a lot of tv ER, Dangerous Minds etc. and she has a band. Over all most of the people from the main cast have done okay.

  • @Chicagoan444

Actually Jasmine Guy was a no name character on this show. She played Whitley Gilbert on A Different World!

  • @Chicagoan444 - the actor that played "Leroy" - Gene Anthony Ray, died of Aids 8 years ago..."Mr. Sorofsky" (Albert Hague) also died 10 years ago, at age 81. The rest are still active, more or less.

  • @Chicagoan444 i know that leroy died of AIDS...

  • I loved this show when I was little. Leroy and Bruno were my fav characters. I Always liked the intro theme song and since the new movie is coming out, and, which btw hope it doesn't stink even if Debbie Allen is in it, every time there is promo I start to sing "remember, remember, remember.... FAME!" My lil' sis doesn't know about the original show. So I had to explain it to her.

  • Hahaha, that was incredibly funny

  • god i loved this show, the movie looks like it's gonna suck though.

  • Look Douche. Go fuck yourself. Why are you watching it then? Stick to your porn asshole

  • Lol, easy princess I just wanted a good laugh. Its still gay though

  • wicked! me and my sis used to try and do the moves!

  • yo, fame crew from stockholm <3

  • ending jump lol

  • love the song ! but like that she wil never go to heaven -_-

  • my mom got the episodes off netflix i love them

  • Ohhh man the memories this brings. I used to sit down and watch this show before heading off to school. The theme ALWAYS rocked and it's like you've heard it for the first time. Anyway this brings some incredible memories. I also enjoyed the series even if I'm not a dancer or interested in that. It still rocked and it still does. thanks for uploading this. much appriciated!

  • UN TAN UN TAN UN TAN MOE MOE KYUN

  • 30 seconds in, that dude is anderson from man united!

  • I Have to do an Year leaving play and this is what we're doing!

  • yes, i believe Leroy died from partaking in such activity.

  • The biggest cost of fame is the risk that you will never get it and what you sacrifice to get that nothing!!

[I am deeper than Keanu Reeves!]

  • I didn't watch this show but my baby sis did, she loved it. I bought her a Fame leotard & she told me years later she wear it under her clothes at school & brag to her friends that her big sis in CA bought it for her! lol, Then she said she'd go in our parents basement, run & dance around like she was on the show, great memories!!!

  • LOVED this show, I mean who doesnt wanna burst into song and dance at random in the school cafeteria. I was so sad to learn that Leroy (Gene) died. He was amazing and the first black man I ever loved! I even named one of my weeble people after him when I was a little :(

  • It's been a while, but whoever the bass player was on this song was slamming.

  • I loved this show. I always wanted to be able to dance like them, but I had no talent, lol.

  • P.R. Paul? OMG, that's so sad.

  • I had a poster of Gene Anthony Ray...he was a babe.

  • ='(

  • The curious thing is that almost none of the actress and actors of the show became famous.

  • LOL! That's precisely what crosses my mind every time I see this T.V. Intro.

  • Well actually...Lori Singer became more famous than others. She had been in many movies during those times.

  • I absolutely loved this show. I wanted to move to New York and attend the School for Performing Arts so I could dance in the streets like they did.

  • Oh my gosh! Me too! I was also going to be genuis on piano!

  • Right! I wish they would put Fame back on T.V or at least a Fame like show.

  • bullshit. they already did that and it failed.

  • oh well.

  • Fame!

    I'm gonna live forever!!!

    I love this show, lol.

  • i wanna see this so badly but NO ONE near us has it!

  • I fancied Danny! loved it when it was on, used to do majorettes to it!

  • stupid question but is this the tv show or movie?

    i haven't seen either

  • "Fame" was a movie in 1980 and became a TV series from 1982-1987. This video is of the TV show's opening credits. =)

  • thx

  • who sings this song? Thanks in advance for the answer :)

  • Irene Cara

  • wow thx for posting!

  • Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of being young and dreaming about being a dancer. Now I'm going to look for 321 contact. :)

  • I was a friend of Gene (leroy) and when he passed away, I went home and saw this on TV and boy did I know how much he made it to where he had to go. He lived in France the last years of his life, and thank you for this video, wow.

  • When did he die? I was sad to read this. I really miss this show. Sometimes the plots were contrived, but it was entertaining.

  • Its been a while but he was happy in his last years thats the important thing. Thanks.

  • NOW THIS WAS THE SONG .... AND THE SHOW

  • Coco is my girl

  • I love this song XD

  • that song we´ve singed, with our 27 years old teacher, now she is death ...

    but the song is gread

  • i love fame OMG its the best

  • Old School.. check out the cover of this by Adagio, it kicks ass..... FAME !

  • Oh! Thank-you for uplading this!
