Hi Lin Nicolsen How are you? I'm Silvano stadicam operator from Brazil how long no see ... I found this page by accident. we will see in April? NAB I mentioned you yesterday, on a site of steadicam operators here in Brazil
I remember when I was in high school in the 70's I played for Cypress college at a football game. Lynn came and sat in with the trumpet section. I too was a trumpet player but also a drummer and got the call to play drumset, cuz they had no drummers that day. My trumpet buddy Scott sat next to Lynn up in the top of the bleachers. Hearing the National Anthem up an octave to double C freaked me out as I'm down in front rolling on my snare and looking up the bleachers in amazement, heh.
You will be happy to know that my headphones actually gave in to the sound of your playing, i had to lower the volume half way so my headphones wouldnt make a high pitched noise from sound being too loud.
contraijd@Yeah, I was about six feet in front of Lynn in 1974 during Hey Jude. I played the drums in a concrete enclosure. He was WAY louder. My ears were ringing for about 10 minutes! I'll write Lynn and ask him to chime in. Believe this or not, I don't think he realizes what a fan base he has.
Wow! I never thought I'd see Lynn play, other than old videos of Maynard's band. I've been such a big Maynard fan for 30+ years and I'll never forget seeing when Lynn first joined the band. How in the world this scrawney, skinny guy with long hair could possibly hit those notes with such power?? It was truly amazing to watch and hear. And, what's the odds that Maynard would find two leads guys named Lynn/Lin (Biviano)? Great talent Lynn!! Wish u were still playing.
I love Maynard back-fivin' you on that Mac Arthur Park clip. That music was such a big part of my growing up. I still play and am vicariously jealous that you had time on board his band, Lynn.
I love you Lynn I'm 14 and you and Maynard are my inspiration. My dad and I always listen to maynards albums with you and Stan as lead trumpets. It's amazing!
Thank you for posting what a real screamer sounds like. I can't stand the squeaky crap people post. I used to do that in high school before I realised ANYONE can do that. This takes some major chops.
In college, playing in the trumpet section next to him, I saw him hold a double high C (very loudly) an hour or so into practice (him playing lead). He's the real deal.
I know he is pretty close to the mic but still that is so much power, he is probably one of the top 5-10 lead players I have ever heard, I turned the sound all the way down but not off and I could still hear it
defn i think top 3 lead players Maynard Ever had... which is saying A LOT cuz Maynards last lead player Pat Hession was AMAAAAAAAAZING... practially maynard in another life.....
Hell yeah, in terms of what they could do pat lynn and scott englebright are probably my favorite, lol maybe not in tastefullness but hey its a trumpet what could we do, play pedal tones, yeah right. But yeah to many to name that are up there but lynn nicholson just stands out.
Holy Shit.
