Mavis Staples renders me speechless and her albums wonderful-full of TRUTH and Release for a hurting man. God Bless them ALL in Jesus Name. Pops IS AT REST.

The most down home, achingly soulful, authentic Mississippi Delta blues I've ever had the good fortune to hear in my lifetime! Pops was the real deal. Rest in Peace! There would be no Ry Cooder without Pops. This sound is simply unearthly and irreplaceable. This series was on network TV for about a minute and a half and booked some truly amazing performers. I really miss it!
