Sublime and wonderful was this man-this Family-Peace to the Neighborhood album pride of place in my home and heart-playing it now-given away copies-Father oh Father album another anchor in my day. Mavis Staples renders me speechless and her albums wonderful-full of TRUTH and Release for a hurting man. God Bless them ALL in Jesus Name. Pops IS AT REST.
what I find amazing is that "Pop Humans" actually prefer marilyn monroe, elvis, humphrey bogart, led zeppelin, the beegees, enya, or justin beibert far above this hyper-human of thought & feeling. it's not whether your famous, but whether the world is a better place. live close to work & play....
The most down home, achingly soulful, authentic Mississippi Delta blues I've ever had the good fortune to hear in my lifetime! Pops was the real deal. Rest in Peace! There would be no Ry Cooder without Pops. This sound is simply unearthly and irreplaceable. This series was on network TV for about a minute and a half and booked some truly amazing performers. I really miss it!
Real Blues straight from the soul!!....Thank the Lord for Youtube or I would of never found or herd this artist!.......What a pleasure!!!..Thank you to who ever posted this video!!....
On this date, the 19th of December, Pops Staples died, in 2000. What a pleasing voice, personality, and the joy he and The Staples Singers brought us all!
i'd like to thank the band and all the fellas for telling me about this man

" Jesus- God for me. He died and set the captives free. If we don't turn our soul be lost- well, well, well." Pure truth through pure music.
