I know of a school where their middle school band plus their 8th-12th grade academy plus their 9th-12th grade high school plays this song at the first football game for all three schools followed by the Star Spangled Banner then their fight song. It's really cool.
all these ppl and that's as loud as they can get? take this amount of Drum Corps ppl and the faces will be peeled off the ppl in the stands... nice effort tho.
i know its not a "loud song" but i'm just saying 1 drum corps can sound 2x's as loud as this many people. and the parts i am refering to would be after the drum roll... but w/e... they still sound horrible cause of the woodwinds!
just because there are woodwinds does not make it horrible, actually this didnt sound horrible at all!! The corps that preform with dci are gods on earth. You CAN NOT compare the sound of regular high school bands to a Drum Corps.
~By the way, good job guys! :D Its hard to get like 17 bands to play together in tune! much less stay together!
i've actually heard real good high school bands that sound like any of the drum corps in world class not the top 10 but damn near up there. along with several college level "corps style" bands too. my argument still stands.
They practiced this song once before we put it together. one of the bands in the song could easily blow down the rest of the band. a drum core is comparing apples to oranges
actually not necessarily. I know several sophomores, juniors and seniors in highschool who are in top 10 or have been in top 10 drum corps. playing music isn't what they do for a living, therefore they are pro.
Wow, I was in the Walled Lake Central Marching Band under Dave Rogers and Dave McGrath from 1998-2002. Brings back a lot of memories. The bands still sound amazing. (Alto, Tenor and Bari Sax RULES!)
wow thats so huge lol. the music was a bit loud but it was good. im in marching band myself, but we dont use music on the field ever. we memorize them.
FYI This was done spur of the moment, we had no time to memorize the music, we were told on our way to the show that we would be doing a combined performance..... and Milford didnt use music anyway.
haha. completely agree there. there were those few that had music folder clips on their instruments though. i'm sure those guys/girls helped make the sound this loud instead of so much softer.
i love how we were so freaking huge yet don't sound it because a lot of people didn't know their music ;] but except for unproportionate volume, we sounded pretty sweet :D
some sections sound behind.... kind of dragging some but it is a good job!:))
