Yeah, what buttery-soft steel was that made from. Try that workpiece in 316SST or tougher and then get back to me. And what is that banging when the indexable drill retracted? Is that the slug that the indexable drill leaves flying into the machine?

I see rust..may be a 4140 steel. Also, the insert-drill must retract to break the chips and to avoid over-heating...Personal Opinion.
