Interesting view, and certainly the media has been quite one-sided and hasn't reported this in much detail. But it's hard to take Inhofe seriously if you know about his politics; his far-right political Christianity and his anti-Islam prejudice (yes, he managed to slip in the fact that Ouatarra is a Muslim), and his climate-change denial which in the long run is much worse for Africa than anything the French can do.

Interesting view, and certainly the media has been quite one-sided and hasn't reported this in much detail. But it's hard to take Inhofe seriously if you know about his politics; his far-right political Christianity and his anti-Islam prejudice (yes, he managed to slip in the fact that Ouatarra is a Muslim), and his climate-change denial which in the long run is much worse for Africa than anything the French can do.

I was in Ivory Caost in Feb. President Obama, the U.N. and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), declared Ouattara the winner. BUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF IVORY COAST alledged cheating/ ballot stuffing/ and gunpoint persuasion of voters so those votes were discounted and they declared that Gbagbo officially won.
The point being – this would be like the rest of the world telling the U.S. that Al Gore won the Florida election. Don't trample national sovereignty!

France financed the rebellion of Ouattara since 2002, and they are trying, with the support of the UN and the US, to put Gbagbo out because he's not as much African presidents that you'll never hear about in the new, those are the real dictators. If you hear smthg about an African president in the news, it's often because he is not working for the western interests.

The role of the UN Peace keepers is not to murder innocent civilians but to protect them. Gbagbo is no saint. After reading your comment i can conclude that you've never been in africa and principaly in cote d'ivoire. This man (gbagbo) has autorhised the merder of general guei (former president). The one with who he decided to block alassan ouattara to participate the 2000 election. In march 2006, he ordered his troup to kill 500 people who was claiming his departure.
He bought weapons instead of taking care of the population. We will encourage Un intervention if it was to do again.

This is insane. Gbagbo was voted out of office, but Inhofe still supports him because he claims to be a Christian, while Ouattara is a Muslim. Gbagbo has been slaughtering and oppressing his people while trying to hold onto power. The rebels aren't that different from American revolutionaries, fighting for democracy.
