This song must be traditionally very Russian but now I remember that some months ago, I found there is a strong similarity in part of it to the Madonna song, La Isla Bonita. You can recognise it here:

The difference is that in Mamo, the last note in this part of the melody goes higher where in La Isla Bonita it stays level.

Isn't it amazing how people keep producing new songs that are rooted, apparently, in the traditional music of countries? So this song is in Ukrainian and Russian! I can't hear the difference but the overall effect is so good, anyway. And singers from those parts seem so well educated and technically able. She's a wonderful singer!
