@jjswimmer2014 only con to a cummins is that it never dies so you dont have a reason to upgrade.. lol look at my 1990 12v used to pull a 16k lb trailer of rock for 18 years, i bout it still runs amazing!
I had a '97 Dodge 12 valve that I used as a runner truck. It had 400,000 miles on it when I sold it . The only work I had to do to it was change the oil regularly. The rest of the truck was crap but that motor was FANTASTIC! I sure wish the newer ones were this simplistic and durable.
@RumXnXCoke23 whats your point ? 1st , your 2000 4.0l v6 is atleast 2000 pounds lighter than this truck. second, you have super swampers... what does this truck have ? looks like stock to me bud. So i hope you feel accomplished about your baby truck with mud tires that can "own" the same mud pit that a 8000 pound dodge dually can with stock tires.
turn the fuel screw up like whoa not to far cuz then you'll have the motor run away on you, but turn it up it'll give the motor more fuel and it doesnt cost anything
it depends what you mean, if your looking for taxes on insurance, the price for it is much cheaper than it is over in europe. but taxes on a truck, well you only pay taxes to pay it off. lets say your going to buy an 06 cummins and you pay 30 grand all together and the other 30 monthly. those are your taxes, once you pay your truck off, its yours, no taxes. the only payments you have to make is to get in insured
This is a load of crap ChevyBLS its posted all over the internet that Ford NEVER owned Cummins. They owned 10% stock in Cummins but they sold it back. Also the Cummins B-Series engines were originally designed by Cummins and Case for COMMERCIAL TRUCKS and later found there way into pretty much everything even generators. Check Cummins website and Wiki if you don't believe me.
@ChevyBLS no no no ford was auto then farm until 64 then in the early 80's dodge put an industrial engine in and got a contract with cummins cause it worked awesome.
i disagree, about it taking more skill, being light can be a disadvantage as well as a plus, and vice versa, but to each his own, wheelin aint a competition
id eat that hole up in my cj7, 33 maxxis mudders, then wench out the dodge. it cant pull a house or roll black smoke but when your on the other side of the whole thats what counts lol
all of these comments... most any other truck would be stuck... im a chevy guy and i would be afraid to go through that even with my lim slip. share some respect
idk my old 97 f-250 4x4 supercab longbed would go through =) not at the moment tho my tires are down to nothin either swappin a 12valve in it for the old 5.8L or tryin to find a good shape 12valve 4x4 5spd =)!
go take a physics class and learn about momentum...

why are you mudding with a dually ?
CrackinVTEC666 1 year ago
@CrackinVTEC666 why not ?
johnbevacqua123 1 year ago
@johnbevacqua123 its a dually ... for towing heavy loads there are pickups out there waaay more apt to go through mud ... and they deff arent duallys
CrackinVTEC666 1 year ago
@CrackinVTEC666 i agree my dad has a dually with no 4x4 but somtimes its good to go out and have fun somtimes
johnbevacqua123 1 year ago
12v is the only good Ram Cummins. If I was to drive a Cummins, then it better be a 12v.

@SecularTechnology I have seen a lot of nice 24Vs, I dont see why one is much better than the others.

great truck. how much tax do you have to pay for it in a year ? i am asking because i live in germany and taxes are ridiculous high -.-

CowsXonXcrack 2 years ago
@CowsXonXcrack so you pay taxes on the interest of the truck ? tell me if i got it wrong.
in germany we have to pay for exhaust emissions. The bigger the engine the more you have to pay. A V12 would be incredible expensive.
approximately 400 $ a year and a diesel 800 to 1000$ a year. :O

dodge took the cummins from ford. ford was a tractor company before they were auto makers so thats why dodge took a tractor engine for there trucks
ChevyBLS 2 years ago
lol fords first diesel was a combine motor lol hahaha
thefarminkid8760 2 years ago
@thefarminkid8760 the 14 series combines used 414's 436's and 466 when they put 6.9s in

ford used international not cummins. and ford only ever owned like maybe 8percent of cummins now the own zero percent. ford sucks

i hate to brake it to ya but diesels are terrible for mudding. in fact, jeeps, rangers, yotas are the best for mud, cuz u skim over the top

But
Wheelin something like this takes more skill.
And people like me just dont like small vehicle's.

djn00nan 2 years ago
yeah but then if you have bigass mud tires and sink down deep, your little toyota doesnt have the torque to keep spinning those wheels
CowsXonXcrack 2 years ago 2
ok, i stand corrected, there are some diesels that can haul serious ass in mud. hauling forward an back theyre great turnin around is a diff story
djn00nan 2 years ago
The 12 valve is one of the most bulletproof engines out there. Dodge definitely did their homework when they chose it.

id take my gmc with 39.5 / 13.5 mickey thompsons right through the middle of that.... then have that dodge pull me back out lmao
multiperpose2010 2 years ago 3
its basically the grip you have on the tires, a fucking ford fiesta could go threw that with super swampers
