Being 5'3" and 15% fat is a much healthier and stronger physical development then the former. I say this and I already know that I personally am 6'3" and 20% fat. Of course alcohol is generally made from sugar but with double the calories and that essentially gets transformed into fat. Alcohol does fuck up physical development, badly and fucks up the physical state of adults too.

So your parents have to allow it what most don't, if I remember correctly this position in the law is for religious (IE Christian) reasons around the whole bread and wine thing. To be able to purchase and drink alcohol freely, you have to be 18 in the UK, and it has hit the political circle multiple times that this should be raised to 21. It's slowly gaining popularity over time thanks to anti-social behavior and advances in scientific knowledge.

As soon as it becomes socially unacceptable to be drunk then the problem will go away. I don't see this happening anytime soon. Alcohol is one of the most harmful and addictive drugs on the planet yet it has been legal for so long that everyone has developed an addiction for it. The reason I chose to poke fun at this is because it twists the facts and ignores others. It blankly says that alcohol is damaging to a Child's development, thats not true. Off coarse its damaging for a child to have excessive amounts of alcohol but responsible amounts are vital to a healthy and safe relationship with the substance.
