@AquilaStargazer39 Thanks a lot! It's easy to get a sound, play chords and stuff but not so easy to play clear single notes and quite difficult to get that nice bluesy sound where you have to learn how to 'bend notes'. Having said that some folk can pick it up pretty quick.
Wow, Grey, that is fantastic!!!!! I never thought of using a harp for this tune! You NAILED it! After hearing Spillane's version I couldn't imagine another way to communicate the true feeling behind this Lament, but you did it. It always makes me picture a person who learned of a loved one's death, not being present for it, but shocked and suddenly empty inside, utterly alone, and, curiously, thinking of the broken promise they made to return. I can hear you across some city...
@DontForgetHistory Thanks so much. I find this lament beautiful, tragic, yet at moments uplifting, hinting at something indescribably wonderful beyond the pain.
HaHa You spotted the cap!! Thanks for the kind comment, it is a lovely song to play and I wish you luck. Just added 'Angel' by Sarah McLachlan and 'I can't make you love me' by Bonnie Raitt to my Channel btw. ♫G®€Ÿ ØWℓ♫
I couldn't get this on my recorder. But have almost got it on my electric piano in oboe voice mode. Thanks for my inspiration. Your great oh GreyOwl...
there's no words to describe the feeling. I played it along the Davy Spillane's performance and there is no error. Same thing but a little faster. It gave me the chills man!!!!
That was beautiful mate. Is the Harmonica easy to play / learn?
