Blah blah blah Thomas Jefferson blah blah. Bullshit! You have the freedom to starve in the street, to have all your jobs taken by mexicans and shipped overseas to China. Its a modern age, we need a modern governor.
What about the 1 in 3 that need some form of state aid? Are we ready to see whole families homeless? He also stated that he would cut special education for Maine's schools. Not to mention he wants to get rid of The Human Rights Commission. So he in other words, screw the poor, disabled and disenfranchised, drill in the gulf throw teachers under bus and teach creationism to students even through its not even a REAL Scientific theory! We need change but we don't need this type of change.
@joshwallace207 have you ever been homeless? Paul Lepage was at age 11 but managed to work his way out of it and put himself through college so I think just maybe he knows a little better than you what's best for the poor. government is a parasite feeding on the host of private enterprise, growing and consuming but unable to ever produce. what happens when we've finally driven all the "big bad business" out of the state with over-regulation and taxation? how THEN will we pay people to fail?
I like how he wants to open the gulf of maine to oil drilling and his views on getting rid of the department of enviromental protection. this fella watches out for the lil guy.if theres one thing that is destroying maine its that damn clean water!
@nevaslept [lil guy says] what's destroying Maine is the entitlement mentality that runs rampant in hoods like mine. my dad's been working 12 hr days for as long as I can remember trying to pay the bills and keep his business afloat. of course he never seems to get ahead as 35% of everything he earns goes to the government (SSI and welfare mostly), yet our neighbors live in a nice house for free and get paid NOT to work. I for one want to work so yes let's drill for oil and make life cheaper.
We need a Governor that will stand up for State's rights and have the guts to tell say no to the Feds. LePage seems like he would have the courage to nullify Federal mandates like the Health Insurance Mandate. Maine needs to get behind LePage early and make sure we get him into the Blaine House. A strong governor can keep Maine free even if other parts of the country are ready to throw in the towel and cave in to the tyranny.

@joshwallace207 The state can't support 1/3 mainers, no population could sustain a welfare state that huge. We need more Ron Paul type politicians.
