  • This Video helped a lot! I just got one 2 days ago, and I havent had one for 5 years now!! I had forgotten how to take care of it!! (Samieh Swimmer-Pants!!) Pronounced (Sam-e-a)

I love frogs and I always will!

  • How do you clean your tank when the substrate is so large?

  • mine loved bloodworms

  • very helpful video ! thank you

  • I have a pictus catfish who has lived with tiny barbs his whole life and never attacked them like others told me. They can be terretorial when it comes to hiding spots, but if I supply enough caves, will the catfish be okay with the ACF? I know the frogs wouldn't try to eat him either considering his size and frightening appearance when showing off his deadly spikes.

  • wen will the frogs start to get bigger? because my parents arent listening to me that they need a bigger tank and i want to prove them wrong that theyll get bigger. i had bought my frog around August 28th.

  • @XxMarleyxX08 the most you need is 10 gallons per frog

  • wat do u mean overfilter?

  • I just got a African clawed frog and i was wondering how do you tell if it is a boy or a girl?

  • I never feed my frog live animal, I'm afraid it can be wild because seldom eat live prey

  • great video and great song ... anyone knows what's the title of this song ... sadly luv addict is not the right title . thanks

  • does feeding the frogs insects and worms affect the fish around them in the tank

  • Nice video very informative!! thanx!!

  • how big of a tank

  • My African Clawed Frog lived to be 20 years old! I never understood why, when I cleaned its aquarium (about every 3 months --- because I didn't know enough to have a filter or even a heater, as I read is recommended) it would lay eggs! It was a frog all by itself all its life : ( so from where were the eggs coming? I assume my frog was female & that her eggs were simply not fertilized. It always seemed she was just "happy" to have a clean tank ... either that or was " traumatized ! " Hope NOT !

  • yes i have 3 plats in mine and they honestly spend 60-70% on the plats instead of in water

  • **African clawed frogs are fully aquatic amphibians, and therefor spend all of their time underwater

  • an amphibian dnt need to spend all their time in water...they prefer water and land...like tree frogs and newts and firebellies they dnt take water all the time

  • i have two acf in a 115 litre tank and they eat turtle food (:

  • my forg has killed 2 algea eaters!!! but they substantially smaller than my frog. i've feed him feeder fish as well as gold fish crumbles and blood worms.

  • 20 years?????? r u sure????!!!!!??/

  • Yup!

  • yup :) Mine will be turning 16 this january!

  • wy r they illegal in some states?

  • well I think they r in california cuz they had an outbreak of them one time and they were killing plants and flowers around the golden gate bridge r something like that

  • They were eating native aquatic species, including tadpoles, frogs, and fish. And, (of course) predatory animals disliked the taste of the clawed frogs and stopped eating them.

  • they are illegal in some states cuz they can eat the native fish

  • great video

  • Ok one not all amphibians stay underwater acf's just happen to

  • Coll video,I have recently purchased my ACF,He is only about the size of a quarter, and I was just curious what he would eat being so small,I have floating reptile pellets that I break in half, and someone told me the love cichlid pellets,Help me!!

  • seriously choose a different song already for your videos! you have the same song on every vid

  • Coll video,I have recently purchased my ACF,He is only about the size of a quarter, and I was just curious what he would eat being so small,I have floating reptile pellets that I break in half, and someone told me the love cichlid pellets,Help me!!

  • I know 2 pet shops that sell these frogs for like 5 quid each.

  • how many gal.?and where do you buy the frogs from?

    ¿sincerely¿

    Rohan4Basu

  • 45 gallons and i got them from a small pet store. try calling your local pet store(s) or breeders. They can also be purchased over the web...

  • I had 2 of those algae eaters once but my turtles ate them.0_o

  • do u still have all ur pets

  • would my ACF be okay in wil some goldfish??

  • depends on how big the tank is, how old the frogs r and how big the goldfish r and if u have a filter

  • they gold fish arentr too big but are old and my ACF is 1 inch big.

there is a filter on the fgoldfish tank

  • @dander93 any fish smaller than an ACF it will try to eat...make sure they are larger than it

  • Hmm, it is very easy to keep African clawed frogs. However a lot of people don´t now how to take care of them.

You need to imitate their natural enviroment.

But African clawed frog live in muddy water. But they like clean water to (I like clean water to, then you can see them swim :)). Use real rocks, wood and sand and real plants and creat some hidingplaces like a half coconut and they will be happy. They are carnivorus and they don´t eat plants, algea... only meat(invertebrates).

  • i feed mine every other day so if i used live plants, they would eat them

  • They do not eat plants.

  • well mine did so i just thought i'd mention it

  • An excellent & informative clip!

We got our AACF about 4 weeks ago & we're on a steep learning curve. I never thought a frog could give us so much viewing pleasure! Watching her eat bloodworms is priceless! :)

    Questions if I may?

The female we have is about 3 inches long (excluding limbs), anyway to guess her age?

I'd like to get her some company - another AACF. Is it ok to add another female, about the same size? Worried that they may fight, or should we go for a male?

    Thanks!

  • how u tell bettween male and female?

  • males are always smeller as adults and fel=males can be up to eight or nine inches and they have this little tail thing between their legs for laying eggs. sometimes u can't tell for a long time until they are adults.

  • lol no thanks i don't need any more pets:) lol name it something that sounds like gary

  • ok lol

  • Your music choices are a bit loud for my taste. lol. But I loved your videos. Just to mention...my ACF do sometimes eat algae wafers.

  • Just figured I'd mention this - ACFs are carnivores, and don't eat algae wafers, and plecos are definately not good to keep in a tank with ACFs. Someone I know recently had their pleco suck a hole on the back of his frog.

  • ok the algae waffers are strangely enough for the algae eating fish, since he won't have anything to eat 4 a while considering this is a new tank with no algae. so i know african clawed frogs are carnivores. and just like any other animal, they are unique and happen to get along with the pleco because the frogs are still babies and they are all pretty much the same size

  • If the algae is for the algae eating fish, then you don't NEED algae wafers to own an ACF, right? By the way, heaters aren't needed -They are ok, but ACFs only need temps in the mid-high 60s.If you go over 75 you just have to feed your frog alot more food and have increased risk for bacteria, fungi, etc. to grow. But don't go over 80. And I was just making sure everyone knew the risk of their frog getting a hole sucked from their back.

  • ya ok. i only use a heater because it gets cold in the winter and the tank is next to a window

  • awsome thanks !

  • cool nice. How much they cost?

  • usually around $20

  • ha Aaron i am first veiw ..funny
