the only thing i dont like about shootin inside is the smell. sombody said there is actually lead inside the primer's propellant. can you confirm this?
@Gamble2185 Yes, modern non-corrosive primers use lead styphnate as the initiating material. They release a few milligrams of lead (probably lead oxide) when the round if fired; shouldn't be a big deal unless you fire thousands of rounds, as happens in indoor ranges (they have special lead-free range ammunition now).
IF YOU HAVE A BULLET MOLD YOU COULD MAKE THESE OUT OF PARAFFIN AND BEES WAX PROBABLY, NO IDEA WHAT MATERIAL THIS IS BUT IT IS SOME TUFF STUFF, SIMILAR TO CRAYON, BUT EVEN HARDER.
SEE MY VIDEO " LOADING WAX PROJECTILES FOR THE 1895 NAGANT REVOLVER " FOR LOADING OTHER CALIBERS, YOU CAN MAKE ANY CALIBER YOU WISH, INCLUDING RIFLE AND METRIC CALIBERS.
I have been interested in wax ammo for a bit now. I want to be able to practice with out disterbing those that live close to me. I have seen people make them out of wax using bullet molds, but this looks like an easier option.
These look like alot of fun! For someone who has never done any reloading, would I be able to buy pre-primed shell casings for my .44 mag to use these, or would I need to buy special equiptment?
ALL YOU WOULD NEED IS A SMALL PUNCH TO DRIVE OUT THE SPENT PRIMER AND A PRIMING TOOL TO INSERT A FRESH ONE. THE CASES DO NOT NEED TO BE RESIZED AFTER FIRING.
@SebNormandy right dia. certainly won't cycle the action. will have to do that by hand. might not feed right though. easy enough to check that with an empty. I'll report back if it works :-)
UNFORTUNATELY NOT, THESE ARE .38 CALIBER. YOU COULD HOWEVER MAKE A TOOL TO PUSH THEM INTO THE NAGANT CASE, THESE WORK REALLY WELL FOR INDOOR SHOOTING, A LOT OF FUN AS WELL.
Dude they're loaded primers and wax you cant seriously talk for nearly ten minutes about it.
